I preordered Splatoon a while ago but only got around to plating it today. So far I've gotten to the second boss in singleplayer, leveled up to level 4, and bought some new clothes.

 

Where are you in the game?

Been playing a lot of the local 1 vs 1 matched with the kids having a good time. Hopefully nintendo adds the ability to play 4vs4 local with cpu players. Doubt it but either way hope they give us more local stuff.

Well that was disturbing.

Just got to level 10, great fun so far. Hope it doesn't get light on content any time soon. Didn't they say there'd be weekly DLC updates?

Went shopping today which conveniently happened to be the launch of Splatoon in Aus. I'll play when I'm finished with Paper Mario

I'm kind of interested to see how the gamer demographic compares to other fps.

I'm hypothesizing that Splatoon will have significantly more female gamers, and therefore may increase one's chances of communicating with one and such.

This is what I expect the general consensus to be. Nintendo isn't targeting the diehard fps gamer that knows what is missing, but the semicasual/nongamer that didn't know what's all there. In that case Nintendo's ofsetting makes sense, as they get the core expreince nailed down flawlessly and will add to it over time, with a friendly little reminder for people who put the game down for a little while to start playing again.
