First time since Yoshi's Story I'm considering a Yoshi game.

1. Can I tap my SMB series Yoshi amiibo to get the double Yoshi?

Nintendo has shared additional details about how amiibo work in Yoshi’s Woolly World.

The company previously announced that you’ll be able to unlock Yoshi patterns based on characters like Mario and Donkey Kong. Although not every amiibo can unlock a pattern relating to the character, you’ll still be able to dress up Yoshi in new styles. That means Pikachu, Charizard, Greninja, Jigglypuff, and Lucario do work with the game after all. They just won’t unlock patterns based on the Pokemon.

All three Yarn Yoshi amiibo can be used to save your favorite pattern. The two Yoshi amiibo from the Smash Bros. and Super Mario series unlock Double Yoshi (just not one made of yarn).

They will unlock double yoshi, but not one made of yarn. Only yarn yoshi amiibo will do that. Other amiibo will unlock yoshi patterns, 40 some.

 

Not sure about online co-op.. I would say no.

This game is shaping up to be so super cute...

 

Of course, it's so cute, I wonder how many Nintendo fans would even dare get caught by a non-gamer playing it, hahaha! xD

I didn't realise the game was being released so much earlier here in the UK/EU. It's one of those rare occasions when we get a game well before North America. I've preordered it and can't wait for the 26th of this month. Actually I'll probably have it on the 25th.
