Have watched this a few times now and still blown away by the presentation, especially the physics based stuff going on.

That makes me guess the devs are really taking advantage of GPU compute here.

Sure the games have been linear but the gameplay, voice acting and story is closest thing I've ever played to a movie.

Can't wait for this one.

I've only played the Vita Uncharted game but it pretty much confirmed what I felt towards the series. It just reeked of generic action movie vibe and it really just felt like they wanted to make a movie more than they did a game. The gameplay was so plain, just shoot these guys then go here, cutscene, shoot these guys, climb this wall, another cutscene... Not sure why I played through the whole thing to be honest, I was really pushing myself just to give it a chance but I can't say I enjoyed it overall.

Some people do like cinematic games but I am yet to see why Uncharted is such a critically acclaimed series, it just seems so overrated.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

From what I understand, Uncharted 4 is supposed to be open world this time...at least, I think it is based on what I've read.

I'm excited for it, either way. ^^

You could pretty much say that for most games out there. There is more to Uncharted then that. I suggest you give the home console games a try before making such a rash judgement. The Uncharted series was one of the best franchises of last generation and if this new game is anything to go buy that's going to continue this generation. It's certainly my most anticipated game of this generation so far.

Vita one was a gimmick launch game and not the best for the series but you are right. It's a mediocre series coated in shiny paint. Also funny how each one is a massive downgrade from E3 reveal. Each one since 2 when revealed starts off with him waking up Sully warning him and how this is the last time. It's dull. I have Uncharted 3. It's basically boring cutscenes then shoot shoot bang bang half ass puzzles climb almost die as something breaks while hanging on it and the cycle keeps repeating. It didn't really change up or offer any variety to it unless you count when he was high and walking through crowds seeing stuff. Whatever. What I played of 2 felt the same.

If you want a great TPS play Binary Domain or Vanquish. Not the handsome scarf wearing hipster hanging from pipes when not shooting his way about and yet to wash his shirt.
