If this is true, than Microsoft are the biggest idiots in industry history. This would be even worse than when Sega announced at E3 1995 that they would be launching the Saturn the same day.

I understand the reasoning behind blocking used games -- means more money for the studios -- but it would be a bad idea and really, how can the 720 tell if its been used?

It's possible that each game will have a distinct code,(Not like serial numbers, but rather, on the disc itself)and after the first time it's used, it will be linked to the gamertag forever.

Yeah, it sounds weird, but that's the way I envision it.

This is how I think it will be as well.

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

This is great news, Nintendo won't be as under powered as this generation. Plus, since it's quite rare for a console to be used to its maximum potential, we will see very few games that seem to out match the Wii U in power. At least that's the case with the Wii U vs Nextbox.

You basically have it here, ATI has been putting tesslation hardware into their GPUs since what feels like the beginning of time, even the 360 has tesselation hardware the PS3 doesn't! Also, Shader Model 5.0 will matter, only the lack of DirectX 11 support, which is useless anyway, since all DX11 did was standardize tesslation units, and standardize GPGPU (General Purpose Graphics Processing Unit... More on that later ;) ) also, just like there was nothing stopping the PS3 from displaying 3D, there really wasn't anything stopping the WiiU to begin with either...

Well actually, it won't, Shader Model 5.0 is part of the HLSL that Direct3D uses and other APIs use their own shader modelling language. So Nintendo could have something equivalent or even better in theirs.
