There is nothing wrong with elaborating a little bit Aaron, I know you ain't been here long fella
You mean Nintendo right? Yeah, we would hope. They never really disappoint, but its a new business nowadays. It always is, that is why it matters each time a release is on the horizon. What if this time, they actually did it properly? Not a lot of confidence around, especially since the 3DS launch...
Wish I could have your positive attitude! Have you been keeping yourself up to date with news?
News-wise I'm seeing the exact opposite; Huge secrets and oodles of developer love. And Pachter hate, but he speaks in opposites
If you mean interweb whispering, then I completely agree with you - People need more confidence in the old N. Contrary to popular belief, they know what they're doing; No other developer has as much experience as they do in the industry. What threw them off with their handheld was the pricing of competing mobile devices; Both the iPhone and PSP/V are/were very expensive, and they thought that it wouldn't be hard to compete at the same price. And it wouldn't have been had they gotten adequate support.
The Wii U, on the other hand, doesn't have any price-competing issues. The only thing it has to price-match is other consoles, and developer support is already there long before its official release date is actually revealed, one of which is bringing an enhanced version of a game that has gotten outstanding reviews. Add in the fact that it is much more clearly distinguishable from its predecessor and doesn't feature anything that can stir up too much controversy, and none of the 3DS flaws can be seen.
It's looking to be one of the better launches seen by Nintendo.
