They aren't becoming to real, but there starting to lose some of the "Wow" factor you sometimes get when playing a game and seeing something awesome. (Think Portal 2)
I get that some realism is for balancing, but I'm talking about realism on a whole, not just regarding weight or something like that.
Devs just shouldn't forget that games are games.
That is all.

Saying it's 'a loooong' way down the line is completely false. Graphics aren't the only thing included in this equation. No, they are not. There is a loooong way to go for them to become 'too real'.

I agree if you're saying what I think you're saying. I really dislike movies with a lot of gore, I imagine it could becoem much worse with games. The only thing I'd worry about is how graphic they could make blood and gore. I mean, even for me, I think that there are some parts of gore that can be assumed, but not directly stated through HD graphics. Anybody agree?

The blood in games and movies is too unrealistic. Most people don't spout fountains of blood if their heads are chopped off. In games, they assume that the human body holds the blood of 7 people and filled with micro explosions or a pumping system.I agree if you're saying what I think you're saying. I don't buy those statements like if I want great graphics I go out, cause you can't go out and like kill a giant dragon or go out and enter a jet or something. So for those who is trying to escape reality, I say games like final fantasy that we know isn't real won't be a back garden walk cause if you combine great graphics with stuff that isn't real it gets pretty cool.

When did I say that ALL elements of ALL games are realistic? I don't know if that was your attempt at humor or if you were trolling in hopes of getting a bunch of emotional replies (since that's what trolling is). I hope it's the latter. They ARE! I see Tanooki Trees everyday! I am stuck with that tanooki tail and need to find someone to hit me.I also have 999 lives. They should make them unrealistic, like COD without respawns. Respawns make them too realistic.

I feel that has a lot to do with getting older and nostalgia than the actually game itself.I just hate how games these days don't give you the feeling that old games gave you. Like if you pickup Super Mario 64, Pokemon Emerald, or Sonic Battle you'll probably get this awesome feeling. That's how it is for me anyway.
