I have no Problem with using their own format as long as it has enough storage space for all the games that demand it but it would be wise for Nintendo if they would give the users some kind of playback possibility for media.

I doubt Wii's successor will launch with the capability to play DVDs or Blu-ray media. The Wii drive is created merely to play Nintendo's own optical disk format which is something I see to continue in the drive of it's successor. At most an extra attachment for playing DVDs or Blu-ray will be added, but this is hardly something that I'm concerned with as I only play games on consoles.
