Miyamoto was also asked by the publication why Nintendo hasn’t created a new game in the F-Zero franchise. Miyamoto claims that it wouldn’t be surprising enough on current hardware, but the Wii U could be the perfect fit.

“I think at the time it was a really big surprise, a new thing, a product that made sense,” he said. “I don’t see with current hardware how you could create a similar surprise.

“But maybe with future hardware, with Wii U coming up, maybe we could create something that does make sense, either as a smaller game, or a fully fledged title.”

This is going to get a lot of F-Zero fans happy:).

The ALTTP thing is more interesting (sorry, I know it's not related to Wii U but I cannot resist). I don't want a remake (would buy it anyway) but a new game based on the greatest Zelda game ever? bring it on.

Well, I know it's not the BIG project they are working on now. They will work on F-zero next, but it's probably a new IP then.

Ah! The good ol F-Zero series might be making a comeback! I still remember how long it took for me to complete all of the missions on Very Hard difficulty in F-Zero GX for the Cube. It was insane! And the music.... They've gotta make another soundtrack!

I'm almost sure that they'll make an F-Zero for Wii U. They've just got to!
