I'm very disappointed by this, I love 2D Mario but I find 3D Mario to be funner and more things too do, and I want to see 1080p HD Mario and if it's based off New Super Mario Bros Mii we won't see that until they announce the true Mario Wii U (I don't think 2D Mario should be a retail game because it's not big enough to be one now that the Wii U will have retail and full downloadable demos, etc, It should be downloadable).

i agree im dissapointed but 2d mario isnt bad it's enjoyable for the most part. but 3d mario is way ahead of it

I 100% agree with what you said, meelow. It would be cool if this game is the showcase game for the Wii U eShop though. And the "blue ocean" crowd will eat this up.

I was kinda hoping for New Super Mario Bros Mii to be an actual title. Hopefully the other Mii games demoed at E3 will be included in some kind of Mii game similar to Wii Sports Resort.

This isn't suprising. the 2D scrollers sell more than the 3D ones(NSMB Wii sold 25 million to SMG 2's 10 million). And the 2D Mario don't take as long to develop, so this will likely be a launch title. Plus I am sure NSMB Wii U will be just as good, if not better, than NSMB Wii was.

A bit confused as to why they'll have 2 2D Mario games coming out at the same time, but we'll see how Nintendo presents this whole thing at E3.

Ahh dang it, I was expecting a 3D Mario, which seems like most people here too.

Doesn't matter though. I know I'm going to buy it and enjoy it regardless.

I can't say I'm overjoyed but I'm cautiously optimistic. I know it will be good, but after the combination of 2D and 3D from Super Mario 3D land, and the almost utter perfection of 3D platforming with super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, I don't see how they could go back to a regular New Super Mario Bros. game.

Let's hope they really surprise us at E3! I'm sure Nintendo will find a way.

They have to make up for the 15 year gap between SMW and NSMB! 2D Mario is the best ever. NSMBWii was brilliant.

Please yes. NSMB maps weren't that special, though NSMBWii's were quite alright.

Yeah I hope Nintendo prices the game at $50 if it isn't a pack-in game.

I'm positive there will be another 3D mario soon. I'm glad to see another 2D mario game,

I just hope it doesn't look like the one in the video @ last year's E3, because it more or less looked the same as the first NSMB, only with Mii's added.
I'm pretty sure they've made many changes since last year, including ways to incorporate many of the Wii U controller's features.
