Everyoneone noticed this black area at the back of the controller. Is that a camera? An ir port? Some rubber?
Today An insider on a website tells us that its just rubber to hide a port.
Well...thats really nicely cut rubber, with round corners, beautifully integrated on the pad.. No?
I bet that is really something, a wii sensor exactly, like the one on your tv...
Dont you remember this experience a few years ago, when a guy switched his wiimote with the wii sensor?
You ll be able to do that on wii u!
What do you think guys ?
That kind of thing on your tv coupled with the motion sensor in the pad and his screen could really be awesome

Looks like a rubber black sticker. Why would they put a port there?

I sure hope not.
Pointing the Wii remote at the screen just to select your game was annoying.
Maybe it could be optional.

And Why the f...ubisoft would declare anything about rubber?
Its not rubber at all, its the same plastic thatt cover infra red on the wiimotes and all ours remote controllers! Look how this black area perfectly fits the wiiupad angles.. And its arounded corners!
Nintendo didnt plan to reveal that fnctionallity righ now, so Ubisoft had to tell somthing because nintendo fans were already digging in
I sure hope not.

Theres already an ir sensor to point at tv and its on the top of he wii u pad. I like pointing at screen!
But the one i talk is design to locate your position in space !

The only problem is that's not how the Wiimote works at all, and the gyro can enable Johnny-Lee-like motion tracking already.Oh, I see it now:

Wiimote have the IR camera in them, the sensor bar has the IR LED's.
Gyro detects movement in 3D space easily.

Yes and i think the wii upad will habe both, ir camera and ir leds!
The gyro gives you the position of the object in space , NOT the real position in your living room!! I mean on the left ot the tv, far from tv etc... With it you can move in your living room and see in a real 3d space thru your tv and the tablet
You meen tablet may have this?
(Sorry if link doesn't work typing on android . Just copy in browser)
Yep that kind of thing plus the wii u is able to locate your position and stream the good image to the tablet like if youre visiting a virtual space

The IR LED for what you want it to do would waste so much power, I'd LoL.
Also, it'd burn out in seconds.
Ir leds wasting power...are you kidding? Burn out in seconds....??....

The guy who leaked this at Ubisoft could literally be dead right now.
lol
But seriously, I mean he WAS gonna get fired after the leak anyways, so why not release all the secrets he knew?
Ubi had to react fast so they just threw the rubber thing and will not say anything about the subject until e3.
Ninjas.

Wait, hold on. I might be misunderstanding you.Ir leds wasting power...are you kidding? Burn out in seconds....??....
Are the LED's on the uPad, or on top of the TV?
You want the uPad to have a wiimote-style IR-camera in it?
Johnny Lee's demo worked in reverse didn't it?
That's what I was talking about. The LED's would draw a lot of power(obviously in comparison to other LED's like in the 3DS which is really low power), and they'd have to be on constantly too.
Draw me a diagram, and I'll poke holes in your idea for you.

And ir led is not a powersucker at all!
Do you really think that adding 2 ir led would bother the upad wich is powered to run a stream wireless data and a screen???!
This tech demo is 4 years old, do u imagine what nintendo could do with this with new hardware, motioncapting touchscreen....its huge, its really cheap to make and it could bring a lot, just turn the tablet nto glasses and i'll really fight Ganondorf in my living room
