I think there is a fine balance to walk when talking about indie games, and triple a games. Both are good in one area or another, and both have great releases. I don't think either is harming the industry, rather they are benefiting the industry together.
Be wary, the suck is coming.

EA are trying to run indie developers out of business by trying to make bigger budget games the norm.

Some of the practices of EA are hurting the industry which some of the other companies are following. Are indie games saving gaming.........are somewhat true as it allows developers to try new things as well as let smaller, newer developers get into the Industry. Should EA be singled out, no as there are some others that have done similar things like Activision who help bring down the Music game genre with there constant releases of Guitar hero and variations of it.

Yes, they are and I guess they diserve it...but you know the one other thing the've also been getting a lot of ?It looks like EA is getting a lot of hate this year, what do you think?.

Clever dodge on all the sports games lol.As much as I like Minecraft, I'm not looking to Notch as some kind of Jesus figure. He's too eager to make blanket statements, like when he said that Euclideon's Unlimited Detail engine was a scam - soon after he admitted he was wrong.
The fact is that EA has/is contributing a huge amount of innovative games, I think Notch is just trying to get attention and support from all of the EA haters out there. EA has given us NASCAR series, Dragon Age, Dante's Inferno, Syndicate, Mirror's Edge, The Sims, Battlefield Series, Crysis, Mass Effect series, Spore, Dead Space series and many more games - so please stfu EA haters

It isn't even EA who made this games. It's DICE who made BF3 for example. EA is just taking all the praise.

Admittedly EA's got its problems, but thats a little bit extreme to say. All most indie devs are doing is taking old games and renewing them. If anything, they're just trying to cash in on nostalgia, what with how easy it is to make an old school 8-bit game these days. Not to say they are all unoriginal, Lone Survivor is a recent example of an old school styled game that certainly is not a rip off.
