I do. Most people do too.
Star Fox Adventures was a beautiful looking game, but it wasn't really Star Fox, plus it was kinda boring.
I got so frickin' tired of running around collecting a bunch of pointless stuff. The games pacing just wasn't good.
In fact, the most favorited parts of the game were the on-rail portions, which were also far too short and rare in the game.
They were trying to make a Legend of Zelda kind of game, but they missed the mark.
As pretty as SF Adv. was, Star Fox (SNES) and Star Fox 64 got much more praise than SF Adv.

Yeah, that was my reaction too.O_o
I thought it was universally accepted that SFA was terrible, and SF64 was great.

Honestly i think its the nostalgia that factors into the praise of sf64.
That game was hailed for its technical abilities at the time of its release.
But SFA was defiantly praised as well when it came out. before reading the comments here i never heard anything bad about adventures.
Ive actually heard worse about assault which was a pretty boring game to me besides the multiplayer aspect.
But i would never want to play a starfox game controlling vehicles the whole time its just boring in my opinion.
Not only that but If sf64 was so amazing then why was the 3ds version treated like just another release for the console it didn't even seem like anybody care that it came out.
*shrugs* Eh guess im the only one here that feels this way tho.
This is just my opinion but i would rather have a mix between a zelda styled star fox along with some on rail sections.

It actually currently holds an 82 on meta critic so no its not universally accepted.
This also has me now wondering why people would want retro to bother making an on rails starfox game. It just seems like its not to difficuly to create at all.
In fact it i bet sakurai could create an on rails starfox in like 2 years tops i would rather retro spend their time on something more complex than an on rails shooter.

You know, I don't disagree with you there, but in stead of a Zelda kind of game for the on-foot action, I'd rather they did something like Gears of War in terms of control, perspective, and combat. Maybe a little quicker than GoW tho, but I still prefer mostly flight/tank action.
Although I liked the variety in Assault, I don't think it was as well executed as I wanted it to be. Namely the on-foot missions. Assault was very ambitious (and I loved the orchestral music), but parts lacked.
Also, the Lylat system didn't feel as vast as it did in SF64. There was no branching of paths in Assault.
I just want an extremely vast and robust Star Fox game for Wii U, with the epicness and cinematic feel of SF64. the variety and music of Assault, but done WAAY better (& without the cheesy mo-cap scenes), and some exploration from Adventures (without the overdone collectables). I also miss the parts of the orig Star Fox where you fly through the front of a large ship, destroy the core, and fly out the back, narrowly escaping the large explosion. Good times.

They want the franchise to be handled by an American developer, because they see StarFox as a space shooter at it's core.
Doesn't matter if you're shooting in a ship or on foot really.

Im thinking the same thing it would be the perfect cross between all three and would be a day one purchase for me

On my video there's a comment that caught my attention:
ECCWii:
"key developers" left retro before prime 3 and that was awesome. a few guys leaving isn't going to hurt retro at all. also i think the guys who made sin and punishment are way more qualified to make a AMAZING starfox game. i really dont want retro making an on rails game at the end of the day. why would they hire guys who worked on level design and art design of games like uncharted and rage to not make an adventure title? we will find out soon. starfox or metroid i will be HYPED in the end

How do you think Retro will expand the game to bring it up along side other triple A titles of today and beyond?

And I would love another on-rails shooter, however if Retro can play it right Star Fox that was like Gears of War, Call Of Duty, and with Nintendo mixed in. A game that goes back and forth between first/second person shooter, mixed with flying and tanks and putting it all together in a beautiful package. That would be the Halo we are looking for.
If Retro can pull it off. If instead of Halo type of game we get another SFA.... Star Fox will be dead.

Star Fox Adventures was horrible for so many reasons, and the main tis its horrible. If someone liked it generally wasn't a Star Fix fan. Little known secret was it wasn't a STAR Fox game when they started.

I fail to see how me liking a game in the series that you considering bad makes me less of a fan because you didn't like the game.
Yet you want a game that is like call of duty and gears of war.
I think i got it! By your logic
Starfox Adventures= Horrible because not Starfox
Gears+Cod+Starfox= Horrible because not Starfox

YOU are a genius. I have never thought about StarFox as an FPS. Damn it would be good! Actually IMO the next one should be an FPS/third person shooter, with arwing levels and Starfox adventures' style. I mean, there would be air fight, war zones like in Assault and Fox using his magic staff (his stick)Why?
Also, I think Retro could turn StarFox into a FPS easily, and leave in some ArWing levels too, for fans of StarFox.
All I want from StarFox is a few ArWing levels with all-range mode boss battles. Beyond that they can stretch out the game all they want to, having FPS segments is just an example.
Man if you didnt like Starfox, it doesnt mean it is horrible. In fact, it's the game I loved the most in all gaming history, but that doesnt make it the best game ever. Its just an opinion. However, I see your point when you say it didnt feel like a starfox game (yeah it was originally planned for N64 and was called Dinosaur Planet). It still was well made and the game overall was the most immersive IMO.Star Fox Adventures was horrible for so many reasons, and the main tis its horrible. And what I said I wanted was an onrailes shooter. I did say if Retro could make a big, epic adventure -- something on the scale of Gears of War, and Call of Duty, or even The Avengers. Something that will make you fight like there is no tomorrow. Maybe what SFA should have been. If they can do that WITHOUT RUINING one of my favorite franchises then I am okay with that.
And to someone else... On my phone so I can't easily go back and see who.... I never said I didn't like Star Fox. I said I didn't like SFA. If you want a reason, I can give you one. It was boring. I didn't have a reason to care about what was happening. They tried to make a Zelda but failed.
Just go back and read reviews. Not all were terrible but I'd be surprised if anyone gave it higher then average. And for a Nintendo game, average isn't good enough.

Apparently the reviews were good, I didn't know because I didn't read reviews back then. However I do like what Ign said... It doesn't feel like a star Fox game and star Fox fans expecting one will be let down. Well, consider me let down.

And I yea I get the point of what your saying. I can understand that starfox adventures may have let some fans down due to it's drastic departure of the original style of gameplay.

The cinematic feel of the first two games seems important - the sense that these big, gorgeous worlds are just coming at you, and making you react to events with speed and precision. This doesn't require the game to be "on rails", I suppose (originally, my favorite level from SF64 was Katina), but it does require a certain kind of cinematic, action-oriented pacing. The RPG/Adventure elements always felt like an awkward departure from this core, to me, and left me feeling that I was playing a different (albeit somewhat interesting) franchise.

But whatever Retro does, I am sure it will be good. Star Fox needs something big and epic. And that's what they do.

Just wanted to comment that this was most likely because it was just a remake with some prettier graphics. Nothing as a new bonus, not even online multiplayer, which is a let down with a game that can be played through quickly, especially if it's not your first time. At least the OoT remake apparently had the mirrored Master Quest and ability to replay boss battles as new content. Not only that but If sf64 was so amazing then why was the 3ds version treated like just another release for the console it didn't even seem like anybody care that it came out.
