Pretty sure the gaffers later realised it was just published more recently, but was submitted ages ago along with the others we already saw.

It's the old design, it was published in October 2011 according to the neogaf thread.
I'm too lazy to download a pdf to check it, also I think pdf's are the devil due to being a closed P.O.S. format.

I am almost 100% sure I have seen this before.

I think it was release a while ago...

If this is old, why did nintendo decide to move the slidepads around?

I've seen this one before; or at least a similar one. This is old.

If this is old, why did nintendo decide to move the slidepads around?

Because, what people fail to realise is that patents aren't 100% accurate.
They're rough designs to show what you're trying to patent.

Like this, and that schematic of how the wii u will work.
People think it's showing the hardware, they couldn't be further from the truth.
They're just diagrams to show the process of thought you went through while making what you're trying to patent.

This looks like the old one, which is a smaller design and if you ask me it looks ugly .... i've seen it many times, very old news.

I don't really mind the analogs or circles since i won't be playing FPS with them ... we know for a fact nintendo will only support WiiUZapper for the FPSs so no worrying here, so I don't even have to care about any 3rd parties.

But the new controller desing that was shown on e3 looks way better than the old one.

this is the same controller used in the new wii u golf patent,
http://wiiublog.com/...t-on-the-wii-u/
does this mean this wii u golf patent was made ages ago, before E3 2011? and if so, why leave it so late to register it?
i highly doubt this will be the new controller, it looks awful.
