As a longtime Nintendo fan, I am very disappointed in the first party launch lineup for the Wii U. The only game that is appealing to me (as a Nintendo fan) is New Super Mario Bros. U. By the time this title is released, I (and many others) will be burnt out on the "New" Mario games due to New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS. The "Nintendo Land" game looks interesting, but it will most likely be a game that I will play a bit at first, but then after a little while, I will put it down then only use it to show off my Wii U. I have never picked up nor played a Pikmin game, so Pikmin 3 isn't appealing to me (though I am still getting it).
Don't even get me started on Wii Fit U.
Yeah, these games will obviously sell a lot, but they just don't appeal to us Nintendo fans (excluding Mario and Pikmin). Plus the lineup isn't large enough either.
Before E3, I was looking forward to seeing a spectacular launch lineup. I was fully expecting a Zelda HD Collection, a Star Fox or Metroid, just generally something amazing! But that was really stupid of me to think that way. I shouldn't have fully expected any of those at all. The whole conference I was waiting for Nintendo to DROP THE BOMB and announce something AMAZING!
I just can't stress this enough! The first party launch lineup is pretty terrible! Yes, there is Pikmin 3, but that has been fully expected for a long time now.
Nintendo even said they weren't going to make the same mistake they made with the 3DS's launch, and it sure seems like they are taking that route.
I'm sorry if this is really badly written, I am just very stressed about this topic at the moment.
