Is Nintendo going to improve the Wii U's first party launch lineup? Is there a chance Nintendo will reveal something in the next couple of days? These are the questions in my head.

As a longtime Nintendo fan, I am very disappointed in the first party launch lineup for the Wii U. The only game that is appealing to me (as a Nintendo fan) is New Super Mario Bros. U. By the time this title is released, I (and many others) will be burnt out on the "New" Mario games due to New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS. The "Nintendo Land" game looks interesting, but it will most likely be a game that I will play a bit at first, but then after a little while, I will put it down then only use it to show off my Wii U. I have never picked up nor played a Pikmin game, so Pikmin 3 isn't appealing to me (though I am still getting it).

Don't even get me started on Wii Fit U.

Yeah, these games will obviously sell a lot, but they just don't appeal to us Nintendo fans (excluding Mario and Pikmin). Plus the lineup isn't large enough either.

Before E3, I was looking forward to seeing a spectacular launch lineup. I was fully expecting a Zelda HD Collection, a Star Fox or Metroid, just generally something amazing! But that was really stupid of me to think that way. I shouldn't have fully expected any of those at all. The whole conference I was waiting for Nintendo to DROP THE BOMB and announce something AMAZING!

I just can't stress this enough! The first party launch lineup is pretty terrible! Yes, there is Pikmin 3, but that has been fully expected for a long time now.

Nintendo even said they weren't going to make the same mistake they made with the 3DS's launch, and it sure seems like they are taking that route.

I'm sorry if this is really badly written, I am just very stressed about this topic at the moment.

If the roundtable and playable demos is any indication? No.

What happened at the round table? I missed it.

They spend half on hour on NintendoLand. They moved on to how Miiverse will work with NSMBU.

It started over an hour ago.

"There's sort of this attitude that Nintendo is targeting more casual consumers, but actually we're more interested in making games for people who really love games." Then why don't you show us games that gamers will love to play and move on from this casual crap!

Give nintendo a break. It's not easy to make Zelda games.
They've been focusing on making the Wii U an awesome console, now they'll focus on making awesome games. They might add in a couple between now and Christmas, maybe a Kirby game. Nintendo Land looks good, and will probably be similar to Wii Sports or Face Raiders. New Super Mario Bros U and Pikmin 3 both look great. Those 3, plus Batman and maybe the Kirby game I mentioned earlier, and I'm sold.
Mark my words, come Q2 or Q3 of next year, there will decend a storm of Epic 1st party titles. You'll get your Zelda and Metroid, a 3-d Mario, Miyamoto's new project, maybe Star Fox and Fire Emblem, and certainly a Kirby game of Some kind. Not to mention SSB4 and probably some other stuff I can't even think of.
Launch Libraries are always lackluster. Have patience.

Nintendo actually has more "core" franchises then casual, not just Zelda. Yet they managed to not announce any. Metroid, F-Zero, Smash Bros., Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, Monolith's game, Retro's game, Eternal Darkness sequel, anything! But they somehow managed to show more casual carp lol.

I fully knew a new Zelda wasn't going to make it as a launch title. (I want them to the their time.)

The lineup was so hyped, Nintendo teased so many great games, and they fell short. That is why I am upset.

Nope. but keep in mind that ALL the stuff we know about, except for Aliens, is coming before Christmas. That is, honestly, pretty good; Rayman, Mario Pikimin, and ZombiU will all be fantastic launch (window) titles, and as much as I hated the conference today, it is a pretty good launch lineup, especially with the multiplat titles releasing then as well. I expect them to have a conference in the next couple of months showing off the games they'll have after the launch, and then - hopefully - our worries about the Wii U will be appeased.

I think its a decent batch of games for the launch window i just wish they would've went a different route with the Mario game i would have much rather preferred like Super Mario Galaxy 3

I believe Nintendo wanted a Mario game at launch... Mario = $$$ So they went the 2D route... And 2D Mario games sell like crazy ...

Example:
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 25.5 million units sold worldwide
Super Mario Galaxy - 10.14 million units sold worldwide
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 6.75 million units sold worldwide

Besides I think a 3D Mario game would have taken a bit longer to develop... We all know that there will be more Mario games in development... As well as Zelda, etc...

At the end of the day it is all about business... thats why we are seeing another Wii Fit... Core games could care less about Wii Fit, but the franchise has sold like crazy on the Wii to casual gamers... and that attracts people who want to step it up to HD an still use Wii Fit and the board... Just like the singing game and the dance games... If those casual games help sell the Wii U I am 100% for them being released... I don't have to buy them...

And I loved how they ended the conference with "And now we're going to leave you with..." and I expected the big finale Star Fox or something "...More Nintendo Land!"

Yea thats a good point i agree with you 100% i just wish that at the start it wasnt all about getting the casual gamer back on board and nintendo wouldve given the hardcore gamer a little something more from themselves

Okay thats cool, how do you know what the Wii U is going to have in less than one year? The PS3 had resistance, thats all thats relevant in this post, seeing as the Wii U is not out yet and you dont know whats coming after launch. Yes Wii U does have Nintendo Land, as well as NSMB, Pikmin 3, Zombiu, Assassins Creed and many others.
