I heard about that leak but could have sworn it was 6 cores.

Going over the leak, it appears to me this a general idea. Microsoft appears to be considering AMD (x86) and ARM. If I had to bet, ARM would be six cores and AMD eight. This tells you they are consisting cost and energy efficiency.

The most important thing to listen to is they want something 6 to 8 times more powerful then 360. Which if the Wii U is about 4 to 6 times the 360, then the Wii U will be 2 to 4 times weaker then the new 720. Which is that really a big gap? It seems to me the Wii U is just powerful enough to run the newer engines. Which is what Nintendo needs.

I must have mis-read the 6 as an 8 with regard cpu cores. I believe one part of the document claims upto 8x the performance of the 360 but also 6x is stated with regard overall performance. 2013? Sounds like the PS4 and 720 will be directly launching and competing with each other for next christmas but this christmas Nintendo has it all to themselves and probably by christmas 2013 it will be price reduced anyway to make it more competitive. All three must fight for our love and money.

My living room is currently too small for Kinect v1 or more accurately I've got too much stuff around the tv but it states kinect v2 will allow for a smaller open area in front of it which might make it usable for me.

I am interested in Xbox 720 though. I might not buy it, considering my new roommates will. So I'll buy a Wii U and make a judgment call on the PS4.

The leaked specs are stating it's 6x more powerful than the Xbox 360, that's 2-4x more powerful than the Wii U.

then again, perhaps it was leaked on purpose to scare the competition. Remember how Nintendo let out about the Heart Sensor on purpose to trick the people who usually copy them. Sadly Ubisoft took the bait.

The thing to note is that those documents were likely from around 2010, maybe early 2011. They mention the iPad launch I think and talk about "Wii 2" and the rumours surrounding it. Just like with the Wii U, things could have changed regarding the Xbox 720, it could have gotten either more or less powerful, features could have been removed etc.

well theres no other reason but that seeing as they never made a game based around it, and i never seen it in stores. nor any advertisements or news about it.
