Most of the time I would rather play in 3rd person. Though Prime had a nice first person set-up.

1st person for games that truly require it, 3rd person for games that you need to platform or move a lot.

Third person for console games. First person for arcade games, like Time Crisis. Or at least, that's just how I feel about the perspectives. But first person could work with the 3DS, since I bought it for the 3D to make me feel like I'm in the game ish and arcade games tend to make me feel like I'm in the game for whatever reason. So, who knows. But above all else, I like third person. I like to see my pretty Link swinging that sword and my not-very-pretty Streetfighter characters being awesome.
