Is E3 relevant anymore?

Microsoft had 3 bad E3's and they don't care, I feel that Microsoft doesn't care for E3 anymore and just goes because they want to demo the games.
Nintendo has Nintendo Direct now which you can clearly tell by the Direct on June 21 that Nintendo held a lot off at E3 to show if off at Nintendo Direct, I feel like it's less stress on Nintendo so now they are using Nintendo Direct as they're own personal E3, and to top it all off they could put the E3 demos on the Wii U and 3DS, they would obviously bring the demos to E3 but I don't think Nintendo will care so much to blow everyone away at E3 because Nintendo knows that everyone who watches Nintendo Direct are the core gamers, they'res a reason why they don't show off "Wii Fit U" or "Just Dance 4" at Nintendo Direct.
Sony still cares but you can tell they don't care as much as they used to be because they hardly showed off any Vita games at they're conference.
And to top it all off E3 might not even be in LA next year.
I don't want E3 to go because I love to see the reactions of stuff and I always wanted to go to E3, what do you think?.

Hi, my name is Alph. I live on a planet named Koppai. I am famous for saving my planet from starvation. My best friends are Brittany and Captain Olimar, NOT Captain Charlie. I like surfing the KopNet and playing Kopetball.

Nintendo definitely seems to be placing less focus on it however. As you said, it's probably due to the very frequent Nintendo Directs that are held lately. Which, I think, is why they used this E3 to only show off launch period games rather than all the games for the next year. They want to spread it out through various conferences and through the NDs, perhaps so that there aren't these dry periods where little to no information on new games is being released. Using NDs and their own conferences also gives Nintendo a far greater amount of control over what they do and don't show. There's less pressure from investors, I'd imagine.

although i do agree e3 was not as great this time around because everyone is so graphics addicted, as said by others, some normal guy walking in would think of gaming as a bloody colosseum with what was shown, sheesh
when it comes to it though i would actually prefer e3 to be less on the spotlight, there plenty more gaming shows that get short-sighted, and a bad show from the only airing convention is a bad thing

Really, if Nintendo Direct continues, I will consider it a small, more awesome, software based version of E3 back in it's glory days.
