So I have been going on Neogaf and some other places and read some comments about E3 is not what it used to be and it's going away, from what I have been seeing I think that's true which is really sad.

Microsoft had 3 bad E3's and they don't care, I feel that Microsoft doesn't care for E3 anymore and just goes because they want to demo the games.

Nintendo has Nintendo Direct now which you can clearly tell by the Direct on June 21 that Nintendo held a lot off at E3 to show if off at Nintendo Direct, I feel like it's less stress on Nintendo so now they are using Nintendo Direct as they're own personal E3, and to top it all off they could put the E3 demos on the Wii U and 3DS, they would obviously bring the demos to E3 but I don't think Nintendo will care so much to blow everyone away at E3 because Nintendo knows that everyone who watches Nintendo Direct are the core gamers, they'res a reason why they don't show off "Wii Fit U" or "Just Dance 4" at Nintendo Direct.

Sony still cares but you can tell they don't care as much as they used to be because they hardly showed off any Vita games at they're conference.

And to top it all off E3 might not even be in LA next year.

I don't want E3 to go because I love to see the reactions of stuff and I always wanted to go to E3, what do you think?.

It is/isn't. I wait for it every year just to see stuff I was expecting (plus a few surprises). I sorta have a love/hate relationship with E3.

Of course it is! That's were the BIG games are anounced. Just because of ONE E3, it doesn't mean it's not revelvant anymore! The only reason Nintendo has Nintendo Direct is because there are less important games that still need to be annouced and shown off.

It's not quite irrelevant yet. I still think E3 2010 was probably the best E3 ever so far, and that was only 2 years ago. What you need to understand is that, from Microsoft's end, nothing appears to be wrong with their E3s. It's just that, since the launch of the Kinect, their focus has been almost entirely on the casual and non-gaming audiences, and so their E3s reflect that. They haven't necessarily decreased in size or relevance, just had a change in target audience. And as for Sony's, their conferences have pretty much always been boring. Their issue has always been that, while they focus exclusively on the hardcore audience, they don't show off enough surprises to satiate the desires of non-Sony fans. If they had have waited until E3 this year to announce PS All Stars, it could have been a very big and interesting announcement for a lot of people. They don't seem to realise the importance of this though, unfortunately.

Nintendo definitely seems to be placing less focus on it however. As you said, it's probably due to the very frequent Nintendo Directs that are held lately. Which, I think, is why they used this E3 to only show off launch period games rather than all the games for the next year. They want to spread it out through various conferences and through the NDs, perhaps so that there aren't these dry periods where little to no information on new games is being released. Using NDs and their own conferences also gives Nintendo a far greater amount of control over what they do and don't show. There's less pressure from investors, I'd imagine.

Nintendo Direct, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, bloggers, and gaming websites (the internet in general) are are slowly killing the relevance of E3. I believe this is evident by the actions of the big three, as well as many publishers (Capcom, Konami and SEGA, for example). The industry doesn't need a big showcase conference any more. News spreads almost instantly though Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

still relevant, were just info hounds and that means we know more than half of whats showing
although i do agree e3 was not as great this time around because everyone is so graphics addicted, as said by others, some normal guy walking in would think of gaming as a bloody colosseum with what was shown, sheesh

when it comes to it though i would actually prefer e3 to be less on the spotlight, there plenty more gaming shows that get short-sighted, and a bad show from the only airing convention is a bad thing

Also there is not much surprise anymore because a lot of things get leaked out before E3. Okay maybe not much, but it could get worse next year.

Not to me, it isn't anymore, I mean, the freaking Pre-E3 Nintendo direct was better than the E3 itself, and this past Nintendo Direct was WAY much better than E3 itself.
Really, if Nintendo Direct continues, I will consider it a small, more awesome, software based version of E3 back in it's glory days.

I expect it to become an event for the press to play already announced games. Less and less games will be announced there. Nintendo, i predict, will no longer have press conferences, and only have a Nintendo Direct the day of the show.

I think it would be more cool if they announced everything on E3. Not having small announcements over the year.
