There was some doubt over Star Fox since we didn't get one on the Wii, but with the recent release of Star Fox 64 3D and then this article, I think it is the best chance of getting a new one we have ever had.Well i didnt have any doubt there was gonna a metroid and Star fox. Theyre definately the type of franchises that'd get the Core gamer interest and make them realize that Nintendo doesn't just overuse Mario and Zelda.
As for Metroid, I think that the main question with it is "what kind" 2D or 3D? Also, Metroid has been a 'hit or miss' franchise for Nintendo that only sometimes does great. The prime games did great but games like Super Metroid, Metroid, Metroid II, and Metroid: Other M not finding as much success as Nintendo would have liked the series could fall into a lull. But this is showing that Nintendo has not lost interest. I am not saying that they would quite yet after only one recent setback but remember that something similar happened to Star Fox, only one or two game(s) that were considered not up to series standard and it doesn't receive a new title for about 6 years.
Nevertheless this is very exciting news and I am looking forward to these games on the Wii U.
