Lately I've been seeing a lot of people with their profile picture as their Mii. How do you do that?

I shower you with coconut cream pies.

Well, you go to your 3DS and go to the Mii Maker and select "QR Code/Image Options" and then select "Save Mii as Image". After that you will just need to get the image from your SD Card.
If you want to take it a step further so it can be like mine, recreate your entire Mii in Photoshop so it can be in glorious HD, and have many hats.

Insert your SD Card in the SD Card slot of your computer. Once you open it on your computer click folder called "DCIM" the picture will be in a folder called "100NIN03".
