Not having Origin as the system's main online service doesn't sound like a huge deal to me. It's Nintendo's system, and they should be the ones for the online. If EA wants to use Origin for their particular games, I don't see why Nintendo would have a problem with it.
Honestly, this just sounds like a rumor spread by somebody hell-bent on hating the Wii U.
The post above was certified to be simply smashing by the Wii U Forum Staff.

secondly remember that reggie said nintendo's online is going to be flexible, meaning all developers will be able to put their own online systems for their games. so basically if EA wants (and if nintendo is still going through with this original plan) they can put origin on wii u for all EA games

I'm not too bothered really, EA hasn't been putting out the best of games for the past couple years. But losing third party support, however minor, is never a good thing. I still think Nintendo made the right choice here though, the idea of handing a large part of the online service over to another company seems kind of offputting...

*Squeal*This also gave props to Valve, who also loves the system and since they are hard at work for 5 games in the next three years next year they will show off games for Wii U, starting with a multiplat Left 4 Dead prequel announcement for Q1/Q2 2013. (rumored)
Too good to be true?

Wouldn't surprise me really. There was a lot of talk last year when the Origin rumours came out, that if Nintendo by some chance declined the offer that EA could react quite badly. Looks like that might have been exactly what happens.

They're not saying "no more".I just find it stupid that EA would react like that, if the big 3 don't want Origins EA shouldn't act like a baby and say "no more support from us than!".
They're saying "You'll get the same crap as your competitors."
Meanwhile, ubisoft are making exclusives.
Personally, it fits the timeline of events, but I think that's because it was made that way.
Someone noticed all these events and made up a story to make it make sense, that made sense.
It could be true though.
Still a rumour either way.
Let me dream about 5 valve games and steamworks on a nintendo console! :'(

I'm glad that Origin isn't going to be the main online store on the Wii U. Thank all things mighty it isn't!
Yes, thank you indeed.

EA is a strage company these days, jumping into any risky thing that could profit big time, instead of the normal approach of profit'ing off of old ideas
i would not expect them to drop out of a console because of a denied origin offer, perhaps they might be silly enough to downgrade wiiu titles but thats about it
in other news g4 is being a pretty big poot not talking about the wiiu while showing off games for it, somebody needs to replace that gaming channel before they get rich enough off of secret advertizing to rule the world
