If consumers don't buy wii u's then 3rd party games won't bother porting to it, and no one is gonna buy the wii u for the 3rd party games they can get on their current generation counsoles with slightly worse graphical performance. 1st party exclusives like
Mario and pikmin are whats gonna sell the wii u, much like previous Nintendo counsoles, then people will buy the 3rd party games for their superior graphics and use of the gamepad.
In conclusion Nintendo will be to blame for not making amazing exclusives that get people to go out and buy the u.

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

its pretty much been confirmedmthat wii u has directx 11 identical hardware that runs the newest open gl software which means its pretty safe to say its future proof.

It doesnt matter wether its been finalised it can do DX11. It could do DX12 but still perform poorly. Tesselation is tough on a GPU,even when it has several dedicated tesselation units.
What im saying is,just because it can do DX11,it doesnt mean it can do it well.

DX10 and 11 are way overhyped anyway. They are basically just DX9 with a few features added on,that tax your gpu to hell, and nobody really bothers with unless they have at least a ATI 5850 (i own a 5850)

Look for black ops or whatever game you think looks amazing and look for it running on windows XP.....looks amazing at 1080p,60fps all max details doesnt it?
Its running on DX9,go figure.

yah i know this but developers have xbox 720 dev kits and arent saying much about those probably because of nda but still they wouldnt be praising the wii u' if the xbox was anywhere near noticibly better graphics than the wii u they would be making more gamesfor that . the wii u will be fine if gearbox , epic, crytech , etc companies are saying its very powerful when they usually only work with the most powerful hardware in the console market.
i think it goes to show that devs are having little to no issues with the wii u

The reason why third parties won't develop for Nintendo is because they are so sucessful without their help that they are afraid of being overshadowed by Nintendo's ips if they make AAA titles for Nintendo systems.

Mario 64 didn't sell the N64, Goldeneye did. All of Nintendo's big names failed to sell the GC. Pokemon carried the Gameboy for years and games like Brain training and Nintendo Dog's sold a lot of DS's. Wii Sports and Wii fit are really the games that sold the Wii. Nintendo will need the same again to sell a lot of Wii U's- something out of left field which they don't seem to have atm. However the problem with that is the people that buy those games aren't the same people that buy CoD, AC, Batman, ME3 etc. Nintendo also have a problem that most of the good 3rd party titles will already have been out before for other consoles which will really limit the market for most of the 1st round of 3rd party titles.

First you cut out the part where I put exclusives like Mario and pikmin, and the wii series was and exclusive that sold the wii. Goldeneye wasn't first party but it was an exclusive, pokemon was a first party exclusive for the ds and it helped sell the ds,your like a reporter, just telling the parts that make your point and leaving out the stuff that break it. However on the other hand you are right about Nintendo needing to bring new things to the table to sell, however having big games like Mario and pikmin can only help.
