Oh my God. I know that feeling. I got my sweet new Gamecube and all the friends I used to play N64 with decided to get a PS2 instead. Betrayal. I also eventually got a PS2 but still. I'm hoping the Wii U really catches onI remember this crap with the PS2.Everybody wanted to get together to play on it and shun'd my gamecube (i have the ps2 too but i play'd the gamecube more) saying ''the ps2 is the shiz and gamecube is tiny, weak and can't ever keep up with the ps2 no matter what they put on it''.I just play'd my cube and stop'd worrying about them and when the 360 came they all jumped ship saying even when the ps3 and wii come out they will still be weaker then the 360 so it's just a big face palm. And again i just play my wii and ps3,
stop trying to care about their idiot cries of this is more powerful then that. The point i'm getting at is i hope this doesn't happen with the WiiU but most likely it will because it will launch first.

Believe it or not but to the majority of gamers (and the majority dont go on the internet etc, the majority of console owners are just sheep) don't care about Nintendo. Nintendo has become a niche than mass market.
To the general public, the Wii U seems slightly powerful than PS3/360 but we know it is significantly more powerful. However when the newer consoles come out and potentially be competitive with the Wii U, then the Wii U would become the under powered system and no mass market console owner would dare looking at it because its weak.

You never know. First to the market+decent online+new gen hotness+classic control scheme+decent games. People are creatures of want. We want new things to buy. The wii u will be new, and first to the market. Not to mention that some xbox fans are disappointed with the recent kinect debacle.I really doubt it, those people are going to stick to their PS3/360s for a couple more years even after the new consoles are out. And when the times right they're more likely to jump ship to the newer console of their current one, assuming that they're more powerful and competitively priced. I mean who would want a Wii U when games would look better on the other consoles, thats assuming if they go for games that look like Star Wars 1313.

I went through about 7 Xbox 360s with reliability issues mainly RROD but sometimes the optical drive. My original PS3 60GB model is still working brilliantly but I think I've been lucky as these early PS3s were quite unreliable but not to the same level as early 360 models.
I don't consider the early 360 games as weak. Some of them were excellent games which I really enjoyed. Clearly many of the early 360 games were rushed but some were brilliant. Even the PS3 had early games like Resistance which perform much better than some later PS3 games mainly multi-format.
I'm sure the wii u will get both a few great early titles plus a large number of very poor titles that have been poorly converted from 360/PS3. I feel apart from Nintendo themselves Retro studios is one of Nintendo's aces in their sleeves. They produce great games that are both technically excellent and playable. I'm looking to Retro to produce some early must have titles for wii u. Its a shame Factor5 aren't still about those german programmers were legends. They hand assembled code to get the absolute maximum out of the hardware. Its still amazing they did the high definition Rogue Squadron game on the N64 without needing the 4MEG high definition expansion. I'd love to have seen what they could have done with the wii U, something truly amazing I'm sure.

I remember that to, except I had an Xbox. When people asked me what I had, and answered Xbox, they looked at me like I was an alien from another land. "The PS2 is better than Xbox" they say. not even close. None of these people realized that Xbox didn't need a memorycard and it had 4 controller ports. Something the PS2 had neither of. And the games loaded way faster and looked better (San Andreas). But I mainly ignored them and stuck to my box of green awesomeness. Those were all the same people that jumped borders when the 360 came out. I personally waited until 2007 to switch, but I still got caught up with the RROD. I plan to buy a Wii soon to play GameCube games with. I always wanted to own all the games systems just to play with different controls. Recently I've come to realize tho, that this fanboy stuff is not good, and its about the games not the systems.I remember this crap with the PS2.Everybody wanted to get together to play on it and shun'd my gamecube (i have the ps2 too but i play'd the gamecube more) saying ''the ps2 is the shiz and gamecube is tiny, weak and can't ever keep up with the ps2 no matter what they put on it''.I just play'd my cube and stop'd worrying about them and when the 360 came they all jumped ship saying even when the ps3 and wii come out they will still be weaker then the 360 so it's just a big face palm. And again i just play my wii and ps3,

Be careful with that plan. It may be hard to find a GC compatible Wii depending on where you live.I remember that to, except I had an Xbox. If he knows how to shop online then he should have no problem finding a GC playing wii.Be careful with that plan. It may be hard to find a GC compatible Wii depending on where you live.

Theres one at the pawn shop up the street for $65. Now it's just finding the games is the real problem. Amazon should have them. I hope.Be careful with that plan. It may be hard to find a GC compatible Wii depending on where you live.

I would agree its always about the games and ultimately the specification isn't that important as long as the games are worth playing but I'm still interested in know how powerful different consoles are and it can help with buying multiformat games that are likely to be weaker on certain consoles.
