So your probably wondering what this has to do with the Wii U? Well here it is, the Wii U will be out for about a year before the playboxs get to the market. I believe that If nintendo can get a decent online system, they can become the gamer console of choice. Nintendo has enough first party games to keep their fans happy. But if they can make a decent online component, get a multiplayer game like black ops 2, then they can get a huge initial install base before the other consoles even hit the market. And when they do, people will want to play with their friends. So they will buy a Wii U instead. I sincerely hope this happens.

When Nintendo Network is a more than decent online and popular games like COD are on there people will hopefully choose the Wii U over the Nextbox.
I'm sick and tired of my friends that play Xbox making wise cracks about me having the Wii.

I want to happen with my friends tooMan, I seriously hope this happens with the Wii U. The Wii U's online system looks really awesome. I hope a few of my friends pick it up so that by this time next year instead of hearing, ''Get on XBL and lets play CoD'' I'll hear, ''Get on NN'' . That would be awesome

There will be a jump in graphics, slight, but there. Also It's a new generation, that excites people. The one feature of the Wii U that my xbox loving friends have mention is playing full games on the tablet controller. With two tablet controllers, you could play 6 player split screen cod ( sorry I keep bring cod up, but it's a good example. Here's the big difference...everyone was willing to put up with all the 360's downfalls because of the huge jump in graphics. That won't be the case with the Wii U. And gamers already embedded into the 360 community for COD games are not just going to jump ship, especially if there's no reason to, which as far as I can tell right now there's not.

When the xbox 360 launched, it was a flawed console. It broke down, had low quality games, and required a wifi adapter to play online. It should have been scorned by the community, but it wasn't, why? Because it was first to the market by roughly a year. It was the most powerful and interesting machine for a year. Then why did it stay relevant afterwards? The Ps3 was more powerful, the wii had more exclusive games, the 360 essentially had nothing going for it. Of course it was cheaper than the ps3, and had a few hits like halo, overall it had the least exclusives, and wasn't quite as powerful as it's twin. Why did it stay relevant, and why does it still outsell the ps3 in some regions? Simple the Xbox effect. I myself own a ps3, but most of my friends and family prefer the Microsoft variant. They prefer it because more people have it, more people have it because it was launched a year earlier than the competition. As a result of the headstart, the 360 had a snowball effect. Three friends buy it before the ps3 comes out, then their three friends want to play with their three friends, so they buy an xbox. It also helped that playing with their friends was easier on xbox live. I even asked my friend, who is impressed by the games on playstation, what system he would get next gen. He ( not a nintendo fan) said the new xbox, simply because more people would have it. He likes playstation exclusives, and yet the quantity of people is enough to buy an xbox.

The PS3 was "supposed" to be more poweful, but actually, the Xbox 360 is more powerful. The PS3 Cell is gimped, the GPU cannot even close to keep up and the RAM is a problem. The only thing the PS3 had that was better was the blu-ray drive. Even now, games like Ninja Gaiden had to seriously cut back on the number of enemies and polygons on screen - not a little - TONS. And the PS3 version of Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim is embattled due to the PS3 not beign able to handle the graphics. Expect the graphics to be seriously downgraded by the time the DLC becomes available on Sony's system.
The 360 had a very smart online structure from the get-go, had a built in upscaling chip, and many things about it that just made it a serious next gen console and the most powerful without being overly complex. It was simply very well thought out. sure, it had heat issues. but the console's capabilities were astounding.
It was and is simply an amazing console.
That is why it did so well and that is why is stomped the PS3. It is simply superior hardware compared to the PS3. People can talk about theoretical (read: make believe or hoped for) specs, but in reality, the Xbox 360 CPU outperforms the gimped Cell in the PS3. this is observable and consistently repeatable.. And the GPU is far better than what Sony put into their system.
the Wii's success was built upon perfect market timing. the world was "ready" for a casual gaming system and the smartphone market captialized after the Wii proved that market viable.
Now, people have been saturated with that and want the real goods once again. that's where the Wii U comes in with its powerful hardware, very well thought out online system, Blu-ray derived storage, social interaction, etc. Basically, everything the Xbox 360 did right, Nintendo is doing this generation and then some.

I completely agree with you, however Xbox did not "stomp" Playstation. It outsold by a Mere 2 million. Although most the sails were outside the US for Playstation, so Xbox did stomp it in us sales. The PS3 was "supposed" to be more poweful, but actually, the Xbox 360 is more powerful. That's why wii u kicks xbox's sorry rump I've payed forI'm sick of every one getting a xbox . I don't want to pay for online but yet my friends only get xbox so I can't play with them.
Xbox live now for 4 maybe 5 years and I am so happy the big N has come up with a better free gaming network, with social networking squeezed in... I don't see how this could fail me.

These are some pretty good points.
Of course there are little squibbles people could bring up here or there. But I believe the general point still stands.
The ps3 was, on paper, in several regaurds, most notably peak theoretical flops, supposed to be roughly 2x as powerful as the 360. (which sounds impressive, but is pretty irrelevant in real world bottom lines.)
See that's the problem with peak theoretical performance. Its theoretical, and the actual max performance is IMPOSSIBLE to reach in real world performance. Theoretical peaks are worthless information.... Yet everywhere you look people are stacking the theoretical peaks of 720 and ps4s Teraflops.
Neither the 360 nor the ps3 came remotely close to their theoretical peak performance. Neither will the ps4 or 360.
And likely neither will the wii u.
I will be VERY surprised if the wii u can mantain the same relationship between peak theoretical performance and sustainable performance with the wii u as they had with the cube, wii, and 3ds.

Dude, I don't mean to sound like I ignored you whole post for one thing, But you do know that the Xbox 360 has an Ethernet port right? I hope this happens to the Wii U to. But 3rd parties like Rockstar, Crytek, and Epic Games, need to get over themselves and make awesomeness fo the Wii U.
I sometimes wish life was like Fallout 3 ^-^

stop trying to care about their idiot cries of this is more powerful then that. The point i'm getting at is i hope this doesn't happen with the WiiU but most likely it will because it will launch first.
