So I just read this article and it says that you can play Wii games on the Wii U gamepad because of the censor bar on the gamepad so im probably going to be buying a lot of Wii games at launch too now like Xenoblade and Monster Hunter tri

you can use the controller as a screen, instead of the TV? it's good to a certain extent but why would you want to do that, its too small. i want to be able to play games on the gamepad only and use it as the controller at the same time :(
i understand it would be difficult for games that originally had a wiimote and nunchuck to play, but what about games that used the classic controller? those games would be able to be played on the controller, as a screen and controller at the same time.

That would be a really good feature for some games, but others that use motion control would kind of suck.

That is if you have a Wii U and electrical outlet in your car.

That's exactly what I mean. My car doesn't have a tv so I could just play on the controller with an electrical outlet.

I don't think that's possible you have to be in range of the console signals because the console does all the processing power and it's streamed to the controller.

I wouldn't mind playing galaxy and mario bros wii on it with just the gamepad (not using the wii remote and nunchuck) but some games would be a bit difficult to play like skyward sword where you would probably need a gamepad XL to be able to concentrate properly assuming you would prop it up

I thought I remember reading somewhere that Nintendo scrapped the idea of having that 'black strip' on the GamePad as a sensor bar?

It would be really hard to see in my opinion, I'm sticking with the good old fashioned 70 inch television :)

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

Please read the posts before.
YOU COULD CONNECT THE CONSOLE TO AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET.

I thought this was a given when we found out that there was a sensor bar on the GamePad. I don't see many other purposes for it.

The sensor bar would have to be on there for that Wii U Golf presentation they had when it was revealed or whatnot.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

I probably wouldn't use it at all, but it's a good feature. I might not want to turn on my tv to play a game, so if I'm feeling particularly lazy one day I can do so.
