not in the way you are thinking... but it will have a large amount of different locations. people have to remember the Wii U has a 25 GB disc so they are going to be able to put a lot of content on it. so no not your typical open world but there will be many different locations around london to do your zombi killing.

naw but it seems like it has alot of freedom also we have yet to see alot of multiplayer idk what thats like only saw some blurry gameplay lol

Nope, a mission based game, but the story varies on which story character you want.

just FYI im reading edge-online preview for zombiu and here is the offical quote from the developer. "the game employs a semi-open world structure, so task can be attempted in any order". so there you have it

What? The misinformation here is astounding.
The game has missions, but they aren't all their is to the game.
The demo is NOT indictive of the actual game. Its a DEMO. Of course all you can do in a demo is play the mission laid out for you.
Of course some areas are locked until events in certain areas, but its more or less an open world game.
For example the player can explore the world and hack into cameras and send the feed to their safehouse. Zombi 'herds' roam in real time, and you can use the feeds to decide to choose a mission in a low populated area over one with a herd of zombis roaming around.
Or you can roam around drawing pictures or messages on walls that will be sent into the game to people on your freinds list to find with the black light scanner.
Its really taking a page out of demon souls (and I love it).
Or your friend can die, and it notifies you in game that your friend died, and where they died, and you can stop what you are doing to hightail it to that area and kill their reanimated corpse to get the items they had.
There is no different story for each character. The story is told through the interaction of the preparer, Similar to Atlus's role in bioshock, so its not attached to the players character.
However, the PLAYER will be invested in the character, because the longer you keep that player alive the better their skills get. You can get your items back. But those skills die with the character.
