sorry didn't mean to do that :P its just that this has come up so many times and i always right essays to explain why this generation won't be a repeat of last gen. sorry if i came off as arrogant and annoying.

Randy Pitchford is the developer to have complimented the wii u the most of all developers, he absolutely loves it and loves nintendo. he always talks about the specs, always calls it next gen and he seems soo proud of the way he used the gamepad for aliens colonial marines. he then went to say how awesome borderlands 2 would be on the wii u because u wouldn't have to pause every 5 seconds to manage ur inventory, now u can just manage ur inventory on the go.
i think Randy Pitchford was talking about kinect 2.0 when he said to be wary of gimmicks. if anything i bet he's excited for next gen because he will finally be able to develop for nintendo who he clearly adores

Yeah, you might be right. I think I use my Kinect less these days than I do my original Wii, and the Kinect 2 is just going to be the same thing with better recognition. I gave up on Kinect completely when I realized they weren't serious about making the Star Wars game for gamers. Not only did that turn me off to the game (along with the crappy reviews) but pretty much to Kinect, as well. My wife like to use Kinect Sports and Dance Central still, and I still own Fitness Evolved, which I'd like to start using again, but otherwise I don't think I have enjoyed any real games on it. I tried Gunslinger and hated the controls. Hell I use Move more than Kinect.

I want to love the idea of the Gamepad, and I see it's great potential for innovating the genre, I just wonder if it'll actually be used properly to the point where it'll be worth it for me to look back and forth all the time to enjoy the new gameplay aspects of it, or if it'll fizzle out and because an afterthought like all the Motion Controls are for all 3 systems for about 90% of the games released. It seems like for all of these companies, they focus a lot of marketing effort on getting the item into your home, then they could give 2 craps about supporting it with software. We saw that across all 3 generations. Move had some nice potential with the sharpshooter, but after Killzone 3/Resistance 3 that push stopped dead in its tracks. Once I got finished with Wii Sports and Sports resort, the only other game I really enjoyed the motion control with was Metroid Prime 3. Although I do still have a sealed Skyward Sword on my shelf.

We will see. I might pre-order at Gamestop in case I change my mind, but I need a little more to push me into Wii U Day 1. Hopefully I get that push on Sept. 13.

Nintendo has been region locking for years.

So you should pick the Wii U that suits your living arrangement: Europe or America.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

The Wii U has "arguably the best launch lineup in history of gaming", says IGN.

If developers do it right, like I think they will, then you have nothing to worry about with the Gamepad. When using the screen on the Gamepad, developers won't have the screen be vigorous movement while you are also doing something on the tv, the touchscreen will be small things that will just simply alter or add to the Gameplay on the tv so you will not have to keep switching from tv to Gamepad playing vigorous gameplay on both. It's simply you play the game on the TV while you alter what's on the tv with the touchscreen.

I'm with you on this one at least for launch. If the Wii U would play all games on the gamepad alone it would be a first day buy( live in a very small apartment with 1 TV and getting a second one know is not an option, GF like to watch her shows) Don't get me wrong the U should be a great system butjust not sure if a good fit right now. Plus price is a big factor too and not knowing is half the battle.
