I know a few people who are interested in the Wii U and a one PS3 owner that is going to get it for sure. But the majority of them aren't sure on what it is, thats why I hope Nintendo starts some crazy good advertisements throughout the internet, TV, and retailers.

They better have some demo ones at Walmart, Best Buy etc. With a Wii U controller and a pro. And it better have more than one game. It should have a 1st party demo, a sports title, a violent title and Rayman.

Im a PC/PS3 gamer (and i own an Xbox 360 i dont play much). Im not really converting because ive owned every nintendo console/ portalble since the GBA/GC days. But im gonna be buying all my console purchases on the Wii U from now on.

Nintendo has a really long road ahead of them. Attempting to change their company image in the eyes of others... I actually don't know many who are willing to give Nintendo a try and still label them more kiddish (than they should be labeled). I still hope Nintendo advertises the WiiU in a manner that will.. C'MON NINTENDOOOO!!!

Not anyone I know other than myself. They're just waiting for the NextStation and the NeXtBox. Thing is the group that say they are gamers, just don't know anything, they just play games and not understand anything. They all still believe a PS3 is the most powerful gaming system when it's just outpaced by numerous gaming PCs over the past years.

It's 6 year old hardware, of course the Wii U is going to superior but problem is it's using end of PC gen parts, where as other next gen systems will probably use hardware that is current in the PC sace

I know right? They play games, think they know better than everybody how gaming works. I'm the only one (except a friend of mine) I know who actually knows about gaming History and economics... How sad... They would think Genesis is a drink and NES a coffee machine...

Computer gaming isn't for everyone. I do not prefer it at all. I don't think the issue is gamer's ignorance towards what is the most powerful. If that's what mattered, XBOX 360 wouldn't be the best selling US system and the Wii wouldn't have beaten them both internationally. I think it has to do with the genre of gaming that's currently popular.

So simply do u know a ps3 or xbox owner willing to embrace nintendo? Have they done enough to reach out and convert the consumers they are trying to win over? And what more can they do?

I am one.

But for me I think its mostly that i want something new. I picked up both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 at their respective launch so I have been using these systems for a good while now. So I am looking forward to new hardware and the new software that comes with it.
(I have owned Wii as well, but not for long. I picked it up for Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess and thats basicly what i played on it)

I think Nintendo is doing a good choice in trying to get as many PS360/multiplatform-games on Wii U as possible. For me thats a selling point since it will ease up the transition proccess a great deal. If Nintendo gets most of the upcoming multi-games on their platform i could basicly sell of my other platforms as soon as the few exclusives in the pipeline for those platforms are out and then use Wii U as my main platform.
But i think they have to do more in terms of announcing more exclusive games both first- and third party developed. As i understand it only Super Smash Bros has been announced for the future which is quite little.
Before Gamecube was launched we knew that games like Starfox Adventures, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine and Resident Evil (and so on) was in the pipeline. But for Wii U the games of the future are very unclear.
