There is no competition really. The 3DS version is better in all categories except maybe the nostalgia feeling you have when playing the original.

Ok I guess the Iron Boots has been improve, but N64 versoin was the 1st 3D zelda game, only so much was added (becuase of memory) and they only improve what was lame.

I'm pretty sure the 3DS version is also the first 3D Zelda gam--- *Shot*

The 3DS Zelda, most definitely.

It was really hard to pick but I would say the 3DS version. I like the gyro controls, the ease of taking the iron boots on and off, and the updated graphics.

The 3DS version wins on most accounts, But if I ever wanted to play it and feel nostalgic I'd probably hook up my N64 and play it on that. It just feels right to play it with that classic N64 controller.

Having played the original tons of times (and still consider it one of the best games ever) and today just completing the Forest Temple on the 3DS I have to say so far the 3DS...more detail,smoother frame rate,better lighting so yes 3DS.
But I did love the N64 controller...Z-button and stick was great

the only reason to pick the N64 version over the 3DS would be the larger screen or the fact that its the original. the second reason i think is a bad one, and for me the small screen on 3DS isnt a bother so i prefer 3DS. i love using the gyro to aim, its fantastic for accuracy, and i love switching on 3D for the cutscenes and epic gameplay parts.

I chose the N64 for two reasons. 1, I don't have a 3DS, and two, because the water temple was too easy on the 64 version.

I think it's obvious that the 3DS version is superior, what with it being the same as the N64 only with upgraded graphics, 3D visuals and redefined controls.
