Why are the Xbox 360 and PS3 still $200 and up?

Wii remote pluses are still $40.00.My question isn't so much about the systems is it is about the controllers. The controllers have NEVER dropped from MSRP to my knowledge (aside from temporary sales). So, will the Wii U be the same? Pro Controllers will be $50 in 2-3 years, tablet controllers who knows....
Wii remotes are still $40.00.
They've been $40.00 since 2006.

I honestly think that the PS3 still has plenty of life in it left, considering that it hasn't been really tapped to its full capabilities. I estimate that we might begin to see actual PS4 news by around 2015.
Not sure about Microsoft, though. They're on life support, right now, trying to elongate the lifespan of the thing with the Kinect and Smartglass.
Not to mention that it costs a lot to manufacture a PS3 and 360.
2015? No. Sony would be stupid to wait that long.

Well we're certainly not going to get an announcement in 2013.2015? No. Sony would be stupid to wait that long.
It would be stupid for Sony to make an announcement that soon, because of the even newer, slimmer model.
Srsly tho, the PS3 came out two years after the PS2 slim.

Waiting until 2014 or 2015 to announce the PS4 is plain stupid. Just because they made a new model of the PS3 doesn't mean much. It's just a way to reduce costs.

Yeah, they are turning a profit, but only just recently.
The post above was certified to be simply smashing by the Wii U Forum Staff.

They didn't become obsolete yet... They still have something like 8-9 years in stores since the Wii U will use them.Wii remote pluses are still $40.00.

250 dollars isn't a bad price if it included the memory sticks in fact it would been a really good price for it.I don't think they're bad prices, if you want to see a bad price go check the price tag of a PS Vita.
