So I was thinking does anyone else think that GOTY editions of games will be ported to Wii U? Such as Skyrim and Borderlands 2 which will no doubt have a GOTY version released in 2013. Just a thought and seems like a logical time for devs to port there games to the Wii U

I would love this, there is a good chance of this happening and it might happen for a few games.

Skyrim I think Bethesda said might be possible, and Borderlands 2 is by 2K so if they're still Wii U haters by 2013 (God I hope not) Gearbox is already praying, as am I lol

I think Resident Evil 6 might get a GOTY edition though I'm not entirely sure yet

Probably not. The Mass Effect Trilogy kinda shows this. (I'm going to assume that it is not because EA is EA.)

I really don't see the point, Like stated above half these games have been out for a long time. Instead of just phasing old games across its in studios best interest to create new games/IP's.

Not always. Game of the Year versions of games tend to carry more content, both that of DLC extensions and perhaps even new content. They also carry a nice price tag for what the were, as opposed to buying the original and those extras. These kinds of packages appeal to people who don't currently own a copy of the game and would like to. In addition, most Game of the Year titles have amassed tons of sales at that point, which makes it even cheaper to own the "Full Game and then some" experience.

They also aren't that hard to put together, as it's mostly already created content. It would have minimal effect on other development projects, or at least in theory. Really depends on the studio and their ability to compile everything into such an edition. To the studio, Game of the Year additions are just a bonus on the side, really.

I dont see it happening. At least not GOTY editions. I think they deal with the equivalent of those on an individual basis, but I also think those are special cases. Let me explain myself. I don't think Nintendo will have a name for its GOTYE equivalent that it will brand on all games that are ported over with all DLC content. That's where the individual basis thing comes in. I believe that yes, in the future there will be more of these games like Black Ops on the Wii U that will bring all the DLC and more.

I feel as though im contradicting my own arguement. Ok to finally leave my 2 cents, no, i dont believe we will see Skyrim or borderlands 2 on the Wii U with all provided DLC...or even at all for that matter. Why do I feel this way? I just do. Argue that!

Very true, But for more serious gamers who would have most likely already purchased these games it doesn't really offer much. I could see it happening in the future of the Wii U but at launch time i doubt most people even casual gamers will be thinking of buying games from a few years ago.

How about we fill our wish lists with new next-gen games instead of games we already own.
