we all know developers go round the internet to get people's opinions, that's not the question cos they admit it themselves. but do u think this forum gets any or even a lot of attention from devs?

i have no idea, but if they are, they need to get with it and make a video game staring Toad. It is way past due and he is one of the most popular video game characters ever, especially in Japan.

I reckon some Inde developers do, like Cloudberry kingdom was mostly backed from Nintendo fans so were there target audience now.
I doubt that a big company like say Valve or Rockstar would but when I own my own game company I'd probably use forums for research

I dont think Developers glance over here, but staticians from different R&D departments do for a living. They are the guys that make surveys and gather information based on public opinion and what not. Eventually, a lot of this information gets passed over to the main Devs. Its research from internet, magazines, interviews and surveys.
