http://mynintendonews.com/2012/10/15/ubisoft-wii-u-gamepad-really-responsive-and-its-technologys-more-advanced-than-what-some-may-think/

“And I think this is where Nintendo is really out in front of things. The technology inside the controller is quite a bit more advanced than what people might think. It’s really responsive. The response time is crazy, in fact, and I think the competitors will need some time to [get their solutions] this responsive.

“It’s crazy because the game is running in full HD [on the television], we are streaming another picture on the GamePad screen, and it’s still 60 frames per second. And the latency on the controller is just 1/60 of a second, so it’s one frame late. It’s crazy, it’s so fast. It’s almost instant. That’s why it responds so well. So it can be used as a real game-design thing.”

Definitely worth the money.

i think the next iwata ask could be an eye opener. a lot of people think the gamepad takes up a lot of the CPU power. what if we find out thats not the case (which im predicting)? then that whole wii u would be powerful but cant be because gamepad eats up a lot of CPU power talk can be squashed.

Kind of proves that the Wii U is really powerful, but also that the power is not necissarily graphic-wise, but more like.. More important stuff like this. :P

I personally find the fact that the GamePad can run 60fps fascinating. Prior to the testimonies of developers I thought that it would be running at between 40-50fps with a slightly unnoticeable lag between the TV.
it just goes to show that underestimating Nintendo often results in ironic disappointment. :P

Doesn't surprise me. Nintendo has always built extremely stable and high quality hardware.

Good to hear information.
I knew the wii u would be fast, just cant wait to see it in my own hands.
Also while everyone is trying to get the specs of the wii u what about the gamepad specs. how much ram whats processor, etc..
Somw just see it as a controller but really its a tablet.
I remember watching the previews and you can play games like chest on the table without the system being on.

just imagine 6 years down the line if the wii u is showing age, all they need to do is switch off the controller screen and all of a sudden you unlock a whole lot more power

From what I played of it the games looked great, and played great on the controller. Everything they said seems to be true.

Usually:

Topic name: ZOMFG DYS WIIU POWAH SO INCREDEEBUHL, says Ubisoft.

Actual content: Yeah, the Wii U is a next gen hardware...

This time:

Topic Name: Ubisoft praises the Wii U's power.

Actual content: ZOMFG DYS HARDWARE IS CRAZY SO MACH POWAH, says Ubisoft.

LOL it's fascinating how unbiased you are, Admiral (seriously :D)

Back to the topic: These are really good news!

That was probably on older hardware not running near final or final specs. And I hope Microsoft and Sony are underestimating Nintendo lol :P

I was never really worried about it being fast/1-1...my biggest concern is how it will be implemented, and will it feel like a smooth addition to traditional gameplay or will it feel like a chore to have to utilize it on each game.
