Erm...why would I be disappointed in a system because of its past mistakes that've been fixed by now?

I've had my PS3 for about a year, and haven't regretted it whatsoever. 42+ games that I've loved and played the heck out of can't go wrong.

But meh, everybody's different. I greatly enjoy the system, although I do admit that it had major flaws for the first couple years of its life. As it is right now however, I think it's one of the better systems for the overall value.

No this is certainly not a hate thread.PS1,PS2,DC,GC and Xbox is my favourite time in my gaming life.The first game i played was chuckie egg on an Amstrad CPC-464,and yes,i had a green screen

Im just pointing out some of the mistakes sony have made,and continue to make.

All three companies in the console market are guilty of this. Sony is no different in the grand scheme of things. No console is perfect, and no company that build them is perfect either. They all make mistakes and still continue on with them to the next generation. Nobody in here seems to mention Nintendo's ongoing policy on region lock, which the 3DS is the first handheld platform (unless you count the handful of DSi games in existence) to employ the technology. Nintendo didn't learn from Operation Rainfall, and they are resuming their agenda on locking down on imported titles. Now that online play will become a major feature of the Wii U, don't expect to mod your system without Nintendo banning you from their network. Are you, kind sir, disappointed in the Wii U and Nintendo as well? By your logic, you should be.

Yh i agree the exclusives are decent,if a bit over-rated.

Killzone 2 was like trying to control a drunk person with a gun.

Motorstorm......fun for 30mins?

Gran Turismo 5......Just fail all round,which is a pity because i rate GT4 as one of the best racing/driving games ever made.

God of war....Ok ill let them off.

Heavenly sword.....Honestly,this is one of the worst games ever made.

Demons Souls-Great game.

Now for the controversial,i honestly think the uncharted games are pure garbage.The first game was basically a rip-off of tomb raider,with nice colours,and the second game i couldnt even play. Reasons?

-Why does he bob his head around like hes having a fit when you run forward?
-Why is the animation running upstairs/downstairs just like crash bandicoot on PS1?
-Why is it so generic and predictable?
-Am i the only one in the world that can see this is a rubbish game? (particularly uncharted 2)

sounds like your being really picky about games, if you dont mind me asking what was your favorite game of this generation.

Don't forget Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, Journey Collectors Edition, and the various very good PSN exclusives...

If you asked me a few years ago I'd probably say I was kinda disappointed with the PS3. Simply because back in 2008 or so it was really a pretty sub-par console and I just loved the Xbox 360 way too much at that point. But I really think Sony managed to turn it around for themselves since then, and meanwhile Microsoft just seems to be having screw up after screw up when it comes to winning over the actual hardcore gamers. So no, I definitely wasn't disappointed with my PS3 in the end.

I still think the PS1 was Sony's best console though, but to be honest I think PS3 and PS2 are almost equal by now.

I used to really like my ps3,until the security breach and then the vast psn outtages that followed.Take a lot to get a sony machine back into my house.I sold mine btw lol

Why I think this? I sold my PS2, beloved pc, borrowed some money and bought PS3! I played many first party games, and wad satisfied, but than, after a year or so it died! Ylod! I fixed it, sold it and bought hd6790 to return to pc gaming! Than I realized how overpriced PS3 is! For about same amount of money that I gave for PS3, I bought good gaming pc! All multiplatform games look best on pc! PS3 exclusives are too overrated! I realized that when I got Xbox 360 year ago! Halo can kick kill zone's ass!

Last of us, and beyond can change my mind, but I don't think they will!

And I refuse to play Rachet and Clank 4 until I beat the rest >>;; ) I have to say no, I'm not disappointed with it. The chance to catch up on non-Wii games and a free bluray player is nice. I know that there's a huge library out there for me, including PSN titles, so I'm not worried at all about that... I just sort of miss a lot of Sony's old exclusives. Crash Bandicoot, Sly Cooper, etc.

As I did say above, a great deal of Sony's exclusives are available in HD Collections for the PS3, if you're interested in that sort of thing.

I may get them if there's ones I've never beaten. I wouldn't purchase an HD collection just to play games in HD. ^^;;

I wasn't disappointed with the PS3, probably because I was a late adopter ( October 2010). But I think some of my excitement for purchasing a PS3 was that it was my first HD current gen console. It has nice exclusives ( LBP, Uncharted, Modnation). Along with a great third party support ( which most of it I missed out on since I only had a Wii). My only complaints are more with Sony themselves. The PS Move was a blatant rip off of the Wii Remote ( not even trying to be original like Kinect), with really no games that were worth owning it for. Most of the worthwhile games on Move were DLC for existing games or games that just supported it ( not requiring it). It had Sorcery, but that's all I can remember being worthwhile. Along with their cockiness of calling the DS a babysitting tool. My only complaints with the actual console are the multiple lock ups I've encountered ( none of these were fatal, but they sure are annoying).

I got my PS3 fairly recently and I have to say I'm loving it! For most multiplatform games I would have to go with the 360 but other than that the PS3 is awesome! Uncharted, Killzone, Little Big Planet, Mod Nation Racers, the HD Collections, the list goes on. Free online, Blu Ray player, great controller (I think it's great, the Playstation controller is one of the best and the triggers really aren't as bad as people say they are). I have all the current gen consoles and they all have there positives and negatives, PS3 is no different but I am in no way disappointed with it.

Honestly 100% serious, everyone I know either has a 360 or has stopped gaming alltogether.

At launch? Yes I was very upset with the PS3, I absolutely despised the price tag and the size of the console (It's the size and price of my house!). But now I can say they did a really good job, price tag dropped to a very reasonable price plus the ps3 is wayyy more stable than the 360 and the biggest kicker as to why I sold my 360 for the ps3 was that they gave me a very good online experience for FREE
