I bought RE6 a while ago, but now when I insert the disc it says "Open tray". It works after 10 minutes of trying though, but still wtf? I'm getting tired of this carp. I already mailed the store I bought it, but I don't think they can do much because it's already a few weeks after my purchase (I thought "it will get alright", but it didn't, save for a few timets where it starts at once?). What else could I do if the store doesn't help me out? Contact Capcom maybe? Or would it work if I'd download the game on my HDD? It also says "disc unreadable" sometimes, "clean it with a soft cloth" and I followed every instruction on the website but nope, no succes.

I'm getting kinda desperate, I don't feel like horsing around 10-15 minutes before I can finally play one chapter or 3 Mercenaries games. :(

Edit: other discs work perfectly, so it's just RE6.

Back when I got New Vegas brand new for my 360, it wouldn't read the disc correctly. I couldn't fix it. It seems you're screwed here, unless you can somehow install it to your hard drive without it messing up.

Has it got a scratch, if it does then go to a GameStop for a scratch remover thing on your disc. It works!

Hi, my name is Alph. I live on a planet named Koppai. I am famous for saving my planet from starvation. My best friends are Brittany and Captain Olimar, NOT Captain Charlie. I like surfing the KopNet and playing Kopetball.

The exact same thing happened to me, everytime I put a disk in my 360 it wouldn't read at all but all my games were looked after not a scratch on them, anyway I took my Xbox to a local game shop and they said it was the laser it had burned out. That was an Xbox 360 Elite 120GB, it's in the bin now, I updated to a Xbox 360S 250GB then sold it last month to get a Wiii U lmao, but yea definatly sounds like your laser or something in the disk drive.

^but it's just one game. It CAN'T be the console. And I don't have a Gamestop in Holland..

What if I just download the game to my HDD? I still need to insert the disc, but could it work?

If you install to your HDD you still need the disc to varify you have the game for copyright reasons, once you've inserted the disc it will spin for about 4 seconds then the game will play off the HDD. But it might not work actually, if the disk is damaged the console won't be able to prove you have the game so it just won't let you play it. My advice would be to take the game back and get another copy, if that still don't work you will need to get your disk drive looked at. I know it's only one game for you at the moment that won't work, but it was the same for me, my 360 would play all my games apart from one, Mass Effect 2 and all my symptoms were the same as yours, but then it spread to other games and it reached the point where it took about 30 mins to get any game working. Hope this helps :)

I don't own a 360, so I'm not exactly sure how to fix this. But since all the other games work and the disc doesn't, I'd say keep trying to put the disc in. But if that doesn't work, try another copy of RE6. If that doesn't work, then it's probably the console.

I feel ya man, I knew a dude who got through 7 Xbox 360's, I got through 2 myself, I really do respect the 360 but they were not made to last at all, Microsoft really needs to improve build quality next gen.

Microsoft should really get their carp straight for the 720. If they will release another console with RROD's, faulty discreaders and other problems like that I might just try a Playstation next gen.

Plus, it's been so long since the 360 release, they have more than time enough to think about stuff like that. Xbox 360 was kind of.. a quick cash in to me. One of the best consoles ever aside from these faults, but it was made in only 80 days to be released near the holidays.
