There's been talk around saying that Nintendo have announced super smash but they haven't started one bit on it, and i mean they haven't even hired a development team or even offered jobs yet nothing. Will this effect your choice on buying a Wii U and why do you think they would announce this game years away from it's release? mabye its to get people excited for the Wii U. Discuss.

I read somewhere that the 3DS game isn't in development either, so it looks like it could be a long wait until we get any new instalments in the Super Smash Bros series. I'd like to think that the Wii U version will be out in 2-3 years, but it could well end up being longer.

Those two things are totally unrelated. And would never happen. Your argument would only make sense if they announced Super Smash Brothers 4 the same week as they released Brawl. And that's not how it happened.

lol. funny but great logic tbh, i can genuinely see this happening (Smash Bros being released after the Wii U's hype has died down abit after release)

It's a shame it isn't coming out sooner but it isn't the only reason i plan on getting a Wii U.

I can see the game going up to four years since they're working on both versions. I'm just hoping neither versions will limit each other and that they make the best game possible. If they expect to beat out Melee, they need at least three years of hard work on it.

In the poll, instead of it saying "3DS - 3D FTW" it should say "3DS - Portable FTW"

With Super Smash Bros being a 2D fighter, the 3D is there, but is pretty much useless, just like Steel Diver. But I would still get it for the fact that it is portable.

I'm getting Super Smash but I'm not expecting it any time soon. Considering how long we waited for Brawl I wouldn't expect this game until 2014, it definitely won't be making launch. In fact, I'm not sure that any of the major first party series will, considering that there will be darksiders, Killer Freaks and so on Nintendo will probably carry on their new philosophy of allowing third parties time to shine.

All I know is that SSB will be worth the wait.

4 years seems a bit much... I'd say 3 years max.
I'd hope for earlier but I honestly don't see it happening within 2 years.
