Well today, I went to best buy and they had the demo stations. I got my hand of the gamepad for about half an hour because nobody was playing it. I got to record alot of footage and play Rayman Legends. Since I had a long time to play with the gamepad, I thought I should give you my review on it. {Theres also a video} - {NOT ADVERTISING}

The gamepad is really light, and there are heavy wires attached to it.
It fits perfectly, not to big not to small.
The touch screen was super responsive.
The buttons are not to mushy or clicky, they are just right.
I thought the triggers would feel weird, but they actually felt very natural.
The Wii U is super HD.

I rate the Wii U gamepad a 5 / 5

I thought exactly the same when I tried it at Gamestop yesterday. Like, exactly the same lol. I can't wait to play it with a sexy black controller instead of boring white.

The wires are just for the store, in case anyone is confused.

I thought the buttons felt... less responsive, but other than that, yeah. Pretty much what he said.

Eh, I'm waiting till I get my own Wii U (black) to experience playing it first time rather than just playing at best buy.
Playing: NSMBU, Batman: Arkham City, Disney Epic Mickey, & Nintendoland. Black console.
Getting: Skylanders Giants for Wii U, White Vita bundle, Gravity Rush, LBP, Uncharted: Golden Abyss,
& Persona 4: Solid Gold Premium Collector's Edition. Gonna be awesome Christmas :-)

The controller definitely has a very "flat" feel to it (for lack of a better description). Definitely the widest controller I ever held for a nintendo system. Not in a bad way though. May take me some getting use to looking back and forth between the screen and tv as it didn't feel as easy as on the ds when I tried it at my best buy.

Its nice that now everybody can now try this new system in the convenience of their local retailer a few weeks before launch. At least now, if the system sells out, we can at least say we played it!

Yeah the wires are there to prevent theft.

I felt the same way. Wanted to wait till I get it in my hands. But, then I went to GameStop and there is was right by the door. I couldn't resist so I stopped to play a little bit of Rayman. I was surprised how light the controller was. Also, because of the size, I was skeptical. It felt good in the hands, and no problem using it with Rayman.

That's good then, alot of people are stating how comfortable the pad is in thier hands so that's a plus.

I'm sure others will confirm or correct it but I do believe Rayman Legends is the only demo game in those in store demo stations right now. It does seem a strange choice considering the game is no longer being released at launch and has been delayed until next year.

it looked like you had a hard time getting comfortable with the controller in one hand while you used the touch pad.
was this a weight ,balance ,or just finding the sweet spot issue?

I remember before the GameCube came out and the demo unit got installed into the Best Buy where I was going to college. I was there regularly playing the crap out of Rogue Leader (Rogue Squadron II). Then once it came out, I played the crap out of it some more. Playing it the store didn't impact my feelings of using the controller, BUT that being said, I'm kind of in your camp on this one. I didn't play the Wii either until I got it on launch day.

That's what I did with the 3DS, it was a lot more fun to experience sitting at home rather than in a loud bright store. They announced the Wii U Tour is gunna be here on the 8th and 9th and I'm really tempted to go but at the same time I wanna wait til I get it to be the first time to play it.
