From left to right those icons are:

-Friend List
-Miiverse
-Nintendo eShop
-Internet Browser
-Nintendo TVii
-Download Manager

Maybe on there you can see all your downloads history and currend downloads, i hope you can pause and continue your downloads anytime, what do you think?

That's nice and it's something that's pretty standard now, best use I can think of is re-downloading something I deleted without going into the shop.

I hope so too. It would be cool to update a game while playing another.
Now i know a system update my be a little different but it would be cool to download it while playing a game then when its finish downloading a pop up comes up saying its ready. < that would be cool

It's highly unlikely you will be able to do anything else when an actual update is downloading and installing. No console so far has allowed that and the Wii U will be no exception. Even phones and tablets don't allow you to do that. However downloading games, demos and DLC should allow you to do other things on the console unless the console is designed to suspend downloads when this is done due to resource issues.

That's nice, just like the option on the PS Store where you can check your download history. Though I usually don't delete the stuff I download, so I'm probably not going to use the app that much.

Looks really good and user friendly. Hopefully that download manager allows us to download updates whilst playing a game as JD2995 mentioned.

Im just talking about downloading. Windows ,mac, android and some other stuff. lets you download the updates while doing other stuff.
Yes i know its impossible to do stuff while the system is installing the update. But to just download the update it should matter.
