This is one of the only things that's puzzling me, in terms of Wii U.
Explain as simple as possible please.

Basically, you can hook up your netflix, Hulu +, and Amazon accounts as well as your tivo into Nintedno Tvii. Then you simply load up Tvii, find what you want to watch, and it will tell you what services it's available from. You can then easily choose which one you want to watch from with a touch on the screen. That's the main feature.

What we do is, if we ever need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
We put the volume up to eleven. One louder.

So I have to pay monthly to netflix hulu and that kind of stuff to actually use it? or is there a free option?

Well, yeah. Tvii is just putting all already existing services into one. Tvii is free, but to do anything with it, you'll need the services it includes.

Netflix costs 8 bucks a month, not sure what Hulu and Amazon cost. But there's no additional fees to use Nintendo TVii.

It brings everything together.
By everything I mean hulu plus, netflix, amazon video, your tivo and your cablebox.

It's an interactive programme guide.

No because the TVii service option is only going to be available in North America at least for now. Nintendo hasn't said if and when it will be available outside of North America.
