So Nintendo released some information on what external HDDs will work best with the Wii U. Sadly, the one I have now will not work. Have any of you purchased any recently? Do you know of any great deals? Because I'm not looking for anything special. Just really, really, cheap...

If you plan on downloading every possible thing (virtual console, wiiware, eshop exclusives, full games, dlc), then you need a 2 terabyte Hdd. If you don't plan on downloading everything, but still getting eshop games ans such, then 500gb runs at about $50 I think.

"To ensure maximum performance between your Wii U and an external storage device, we recommend using a hard-disc drive (HDD) with a dedicated power source (i.e., using an A/C adapter)."

So you have to have a HDD with a power source? Can someone confirm this?

The Hard Drive I picked out doesn't have a ac adaptor, this is why Nintendo should release info a bit earlier than what they have, I nearly brought my HDD last week, this consoles gonna need 3 plugs!!!!!!!!!

There is no way I can add another AC adapter to my setup, so I will just wait for a list of working USB-powered HDD's before I buy one.
