I thought I had finally recieved satisfaction when she told me they would ship me a new system and to please hold on while she set everything up. I was on hold another 10-15 minutes for her to finally tell me at the end that I would have to pay for shipping the replacement unit to me, and I would have to purchase the new system from them also, pay to ship my defective unit back, and then when they receive my WIi U back, they would credit my card back. Once again, more hassle and inconvience to me. I advised the rep that this is not a fair option, and having me to pay any additional costs out of my pocket is unrealistic, especially around the holidays when I can't have an extra $360 tied up.

Understand the whole money thing, but where have you been living? No one in this day and age gives free items, shipping, or repairs. You can't even return computer components anymore without a shipping cost plus a restocking fee. If they are offering a new console for a insurance based charged, you should basically take it. Because that 30 days window fades away quick at stores & another thing that fades, receipts usually before return. (Oh how I have been there in the past on receipts. I make nice copies of everything these days xD). You're basically going to end up eating up your time window of return to GameStop because their next shipment will be a good time frame off. Unless someone returns a unit & GameStop will sell you opened goods as new (mainly games, as the open the bloody things. Sometimes even bend your manuals). Once that time frame is up and Nintendo's time frame of free replacement, your screwed. You will be charged by Nintendo for repair charges worth hundreds of bucks to not recieve a re-credited card.

wow sounds like everybody's having problems. i only have some fairly minor things:

- my GamePad's screen is not perfectly flat. it's mostly noticeable while drawing the line in Yoshi's Fruit Cart. i never got my hands on a Wii U before now, so i don't know if it's just mine. it could very well also be the screen protector, i didn't touch it once before putting it on.

- GamePad brightness settings? no? damn.

- toggle on/off wifi. i have very limited data, i don't want this sucking it all up without my permission.

- gloss. we all knew about this before but... blah.

- the Wii U survey isn't showing up on my Club Nintendo. i linked my account, and instead i got the Nintendoland survey... which doesn't do $#!* for me since the bundled copies don't come with codes.

and Walmart didn't have Sonic Racing. oh well. but really my setup went quite smoothly, just a few wifi hiccups. and obviously Miiverse isn't working yet. my update only took a little over an hour... BUT it should have came with all that already.

so i'm not mindblown, but i'm doing pretty good compared to others. i hope you all get everything straightened out.

I've been trying to create a Nintendo network ID for an hour now. Prompted me to set it up, I said ok, been loading ever since. I haven't even been able to play a game or see the home screen.

I just talked to 2 Nintendo Reps over the phone and am sending in my WiiU and Gamepad to get repaired. I wasn't happy that I didn't get to play my WiiU on launch day, but I am glad that the problem is getting taken care of (free of charge). Nintendo always knows how to treat their customers.

Everything has gone well for us for the most part. Update took an hour or so to download and install. I was able to get everything transfered over from my Wii but it did give me a hard time about my SD card before finally working. My tv isn't supported for the remote piece with the gamepad which sucks but our cable box is at least.

I know a lot of bugs and glitches have been reported, miiverse was down for a bit, tvii isn't ready..... but this could have been a lot worse lol.

Yeah, they couldn't possibly have an update to the update that quickly.
