I just picked up a copy of Tekken from Gamestop, and it was the gutted copy thats used on the display shelf. There was no points card present, was there supposed to be any? The only other game I have is Ninja Gaiden and it did include points.

Thanks guys

That's not entirely true Nintendo recently started including pins in 3rd party published games (Dream Drop Distance is one I know for the 3DS) and I got a pin with Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed and that's published by Sega. Also you will receive 50 coins 7 days after registering your Deluxe Wii U for Nintendo Land.

It seems most 3rd (pretty much all) party games require the downloaded version.

This depends on purchase method, console and publisher. I'm a North American, so I'm not exactly sure about Club Nintendo in other regions.

Here's a little guide to help everyone out.

For Wii and DS: Only first party games ( published by Nintendo) include Club Nintendo codes.

3DS: All first party games will come with CN codes, while select third party games from select publishers get CN codes ( Ex. Ubisoft, Activision, D3 Publisher).

Wii U : Currently only first party games include CN codes, but third party CN codes will likely be added soon.

NOTE: All retail games are eligible for registration surveys, post play surveys, and intend to buy bonuses.

Wii Shop Channel, DSi Shop, Wii U eShop and 3DS eShop: Select games from the Wii Shop Channel are eligible for coins, while every game in the other shops are compatible for coins. Depending on the game, coins will come from registration surveys or post play surveys.

Depending on what games you purchase, the coin amount varies. Example: Super Mario Galaxy retails currently for $20, so the survey would give you 20 coins ( + 10 for the post play survey). $40 are 40 coins, $30 are 30 coins, etc.

How can you get those surveys for retail games that come without a Club Nintendo registration card?

Oh silly me. I meant to say that all retail games that come with a Club Nintendo code are eligible for those surveys, sorry for the misunderstanding.

No worries, I saw unboxings on Youtube that verified the lack of registration cards. I appreciate your taking the time to help. :)
