So you don't actually know if it's your Wii U? Do you see any kind of smoke, smell anything odd near the console?

A hissing noise? That's peculiar, never heard that before about any console. But may I ask, does it hiss regardless of what game or app you're playing, and does it happen when there's no disc in it?

it only happened during black ops but it just started happening today and the second hiss happened 2-3 hours after the first so idk

its not like constant itll happen out of nowhere and roughly for 30 seconds

i mean i did have it on from 1-8 so maybe that's it but i'm not sure

Maybe it's your Wii U struggling for air, I'm asmatic so I'd lend it my inhaler but I'm too far away lol ;) jk, just keep an eye out, if it still happens, send it to Nintendo, from what I've been hearing you can send it back and if they must replace it they WILL transfer your NNID to your new console :D

There's a snake behind your TV or... the Wii U is angry at you...

Online?
It coyld just be the load of textures.
The ps3 version lets you load them to the hdd so it doesnt have to read from the disc as much.
So it could just be the loading of the drive.

Or you have a cat inside your wii u.

its probably the disc spinning in the system or the system reading info off of the disk iwouldnt worry about it.

hmmm, idk if its considered the same thing, but I had that happen to my iPhone once, it started hissing out of no where and then after it stopped, the volume bar dissappeared and I had trouble charging the phone O:

so maybe you should call nintendo and tell them about it before anything damaging happens :X

sounds like your ipod got wet. Or the headphone jack shorted out.

it was on my bed laying next to my laptop & headphones, unplugged & untouched. The hissing just started out of no where :X
