I was playing the game and everything worked fine up until the point where I reached the tutorial for doing the spin attack, I have been sitting here for about an hour trying to figure out why t isn't working even though i'm doing the correct controls (lightly move it back and forth) is anyone else having trouble with this?

Havent play that game in a while. Maybe you need to restart the system or disconnect and reconnect the controller.
Other then tht idk. It could be a problem with the wii emu.

I don't know mate. Not many people have posted stuff about Wii games on the Wii U yet.

The nunchuck only has a triaxial accelerometer for motion sensing, no gyroscopes like the wiimote with moion + (not that TP supports M+). It wont recognize ANY rotational movements along the yaw axis (left to right rotation on the plane parallel to the ground, ie lightly moving back and forth).

You need an aggressive translational movement for the accelerometer to pick up on. IE shake the chuck.

I'm playing this game on the wiiU also!  I'm about 15 hours in and it works fine for me.  I usually shake the nunchuck from left to right, or towards myself, it works.  Best thing about the wii U for me, I never owned a wii so now I can go back and play all the nintendo exclusive games I missed!  Especially since it looks like we'll be waiting a while for some better new games to come out.

Did anyone ever figure out a fix for this.  I am in the exact same boat.  The game worked just fine on my Wii, but years later trying on the Wii U I cannot get Link to spin no matter how hard I shake the nunchuck.  I'll be cleaning the contacts and manually resetting the nunchuck tonight after work.  If I can find my second nunchuck then I will try that too.  Both nunchucks are the originals I've had since my Wii.  I've already tried an original Wiimote (non Motion Plus) and it doesn't work.

My other test will be to buy a new nunchuck.  What bothers me is that the nunchuck/Wiimote combo works just fine in Wii Sports Resort.  I've got other Wii games I will try also.

On my way home from work last night I bought a brand new (Wii U) nunchuck and the game works perfectly. I don't know if there is something different about the original (2006) vs the U nunchucks. But at least I can play right now =)

If I ever find my 2nd original nunchuck I'll test it to see if it works or not. Maybe my first one is just old and worn out?
