Got to say, I'm a little confused about the different purchase options. We already have a Wii and thought the basic console would be enough but the sales people are saying that it is a waste of time due to the Hard drive capacity (8gb).
Can anyone shed any light on this.

If you are planning to buy games from Nintendo e shop off the console, then I would recommend the deluxe edition since you will get some points back with every purchase, plus a game

In reality, it doesn't matter which model you get. You can always use an external hard drive for more space, but if you want to be part of the Nintendo's reward program (earning 10% back of whatever you buy in the eshop) then you'd should get Deluxe model.

Hey, I don't do much gaming but this system looks great. I have 3 sons, all gamers and one wants the Wii U this Christmas.

Welcome aboard Wilson. I'd be happy to help. It really comes down to value. The deluxe bundle, for an extra $50 has tremendously more value. The basic bundle gets you the system with 8gb storage and the gamepad. The deluxe gives you 32gb internal storage to download more games, the full retail release of the Nintendo Land which is $59 all by itself. A gamepad charging station AND a 2 year premium Nintendo Network subscription which gives you 10% credit back on every online eShop purchase. All in all, for an extra $50 you get a great value.

Deluxe Edition: Wii U 32Gb - Nintendo Land - 3 other accessories such as stands - 2 Year Premium Subscription (350$)
Knowing that the Deluxe comes with a 60$ Game is enough to buy that Edition instead of the normal one.

I'm a old dude on a low imcome so I bought the basic Wii U console and I can get every thing else when I get more money. Your in good luck if your short on cash because all your Wii games you can play on the new Wii U. So for you the change over shouldn't be such a rip in the pocket.
