I just thought I would post some non important forum links where non important people can discuss their non relevant Wii U audio issues, because my opinion and fully valid concern here in communism ville get's locked by Andy the moderator.

To be fair, I'm sure there are plenty of people annoyed by this but they are mature enough to realise that Nintendo have every right to do it and its been pretty clear for some time that they HAD done it. So moaning about it now is pretty pointless.

Technology moves on and older things get removed in favour of newer more efficient things, thats just how it works. The same way Bluray players no longer are manufactured with component video outputs or SCART sockets in the UK.

Nintendo obviously wanted to save money on codec licensing (and wasted CPU cycles encoding) and as anyone serious about HD is likely to have upgraded to a newer HDMI enabled receiver, it was a logical choice. Much better than the silly situation on PS3 where some games are LPCM but others still use Dolby Digital, even when connected to LPCM enabled equipment.
