Hi, new member here and starting to get a little annoyed with the Wii U. Almost everything is fine aside from the internet connection. We managed to get it connected, run online services, update and even watch a couple of youtube videos......in between the connection repeatedly breaking.

Anyone else had this problem? I know of at least 5 other people with the same issue. I manually configured the connection with the add 10 to your ip thing and it made no difference.

If anyone knows a solution or if it is just something simple I missed it'd be a huge help.

I just set up my Wii U this afternoon and had it disconnect once whilst downloading the FIFA demo. Hopefully it was a o e of and wo t come to being a regular occurrence. That said no one should have to go to the drastic measure of changing their router especially if every other device is working just fine with it. Everything else I have works just fine with my router and if the Wii U starts giving me trouble I'm not going to replace the router.

The issue that could be at hand is the channel the wireless its broadcasting on the router this is the most common issue with people broadcasting on 2.4ghz change channel to 11

My connection's been solid. My console hasn't frozen either.

Twice I've come back and turned back on the upad and my nnid would be orange/signed out.
Is that the problem?
If so, just open the browser or miiverse or friendslist or something, it'll connect back up.

The point is it shouldn't get disconnected and you shouldn't have to start up an app or service to get it to connect again. My PS3 and Xbox 360 never use to disconnect when they were wireless and my PS Vita never does either.

Well, it took me 3-4 hours to get the damn thing to connect at first, but since then I have had no drop outs.

It's good practise to disconnect while not in use.
Even your ip lease expires, on every network device eventually as a rule set out in the specification for ip addressing.

1. Unplug your router for about 20 seconds and plug it back in
2. get a new router

I assumed it wasn't a router problem because everything else (phone, laptop, other consoles) all connect fine without any disconnecting. Could the router still be the problem?

Number to is just absolute rubbish. No one should have to get a new router if everything else they have works fine with the existing one.

That's also absolute rubbish and no one should have to disconnect everything else they have connected just so the Wii U can connect.

Most likely a router issue.

Then there is a fault with your router or your network connection. There is no reason otherwise that you would need to do that.
