I am disappointed too, they should have done way better with game choices, or just pushed back the system until next year. It seems like they wanted to rush this system out. I mean there is no news about 720 or PS4 so those at best would be getting a 2014 release. I just wish Wii U had that must have launch title like so many other of Nintendo's systems had. But they didn't. Instead they give us crap Mario U and Nintendo Land and a bunch of third party titles that didn't get the attention from developers that they should have. My Wii U is collecting dust right now. I most likely won't be playing it until Pikmin 3 and Aliens comes out. Hopefully Reggie wasn't lying when he said that they still had surprises for us in the launch window. Let's hope those surprises are even good games.

There's been nothing official, but there has been very recent news (like last week) getting closer to confirming the earlier rumors that NextBox is going to release in time for Thanksgiving 2013.

I would also argue that ZombiU is a superb launch title from a third party. And maybe it's because I didn't play the 3DS Mario game, but I don't get all the hate for NSMBU, it's an awesome Mario game in HD....at launch. I'm sure we'll get a 3D Mario game within the next 2 years. Yeah, launch would've been awesome. My wishlist starts with Metroid HD. But I'll just have to be patient. I also hear Darksiders 2 has a few neat uses for the Gamepad, but I'm waiting for it to come down in price. I can't justify spending $60 on it for one system when I could get it for $30 or less on the other systems I have.

Hardly any system has a bunch of "good" games in the first 6 months or so. The Wii U got a bunch of good ones (Well some ports but if you never played them...)

Give it time. It's a brand new system. The thing JUST came out!

Nintendo's got a lot going on right now. I get impatient too from time to time, though. :/

I actually agree with alot of what the op has said. But to complain about a lack of games seems a bit silly as we have known for a while what the release schedule was. The only reall issue atm is the long load times and freezing issues. The issue in the long run could be a lack of power and third party support (like what happened to the wii).

I'm sure the freezing and load times are right at the top of the list for Nintendo. As far as the lack of power and third party support I always expected that might be the case, and I bought one anyway. Getting all of my favorite Nintendo franchises in HD will be the perfect compliment to the PS4 when it comes out. I do think for Nintendo's sake that they have to make sure through whatever means necessary to secure certain big releases from 3rd parties. Whatever they have done to woo Capcom....keep that up for sure. They need to make sure that all of the new CoD's end up on the WiiU, and lastly, if I was them I would make sure to secure GTA 5. Unless I'm forgetting something Call of Duty, GTA, and Elder Scrolls are probably the three biggest franchises in gaming today. Nintendo will never get Elder Scrolls, but if they can make sure the other two are on their platform it will really make the people that are only going to buy one next gen console seriously consider making it a Wii U.

does it matter? I enjoy playing and teaching my son to play games, there is a reason there are family games.

Anyone else notice that no games except for shovelware are coming out until at least March ? I thought more were coming sooner but they have all been pushed back. Cloudberry kingdom is about it and thats at the end of this month. I have all the good ones and there ok at best. Mario is mario so cant complain, Zombiu is good except for the constant freezing up during play so it has been returned, nano assault neo is good, sonic racing is ok but the frame rates drop bad in some sections, Nintendo land is stupid and not fun, my wife even said it was dumb..lol, and I have Scribblenauts which I have yet to play because all my Wii U does is freeze up when playing games. All the other third party games I have or have had on the Ps3 or 360. I am just dissapointed that there nothing coming until the Aliens game which looks pretty sick and that comes out anywhere from March to May. Im not trying to bash the system because I think that there will be good things out for it, but I couldve waited a year for this. Sucks because I was stoked about an HD nintendo. Oh well, let me know if anyone hears any different in releases or games I have missed.

Sounds like you need to send your system to nintendo I dont get any game frezzes on my wiiu and can play games without any problems.
