I have come to the conclusion that there are download slots. You probably aren't in one of those slots yet.

My menu seems to be a little bit quicker. Nothing hugely noticeable but a slight improvement.

Just downloaded the system update for the 3DS, nothing wrong there.

Hopefully the same will be said for the Wii U update.

I'm so easily afraid that an update will just kill off any chance of my system running normally, it's not even funny, but I can probably chalk that one up to paranoia.

EDIT: Finished updating, and so far it does seem like the menus are at least a tad faster.

for some reason it tells me about 2hrs but i have good internet. I guess everyone is just downloading right now bottle necking the downloads

going in and out of my settings menu seems to be a bit quicker, even my brother noticed it. Haven't checked anything else as im about to go to work.

I guess I'm the only one whose console won't connect to my TV after the update.

I'm probably just overlooking something. Also, yeah, does anyone know for sure what the update was even for?

It goes slightly faster after the update for me, Miiverse only takes about 2-5 seconds to load it used to take about 10-15 sometimes 20 seconds.

I timed it again, it's still IDENTICAL. 15 seconds to get into System Settings and 22 seconds to get back. There's absolutely no speed difference.
However, one thing that IS fixed, is when I turn my console on, it actually displays the games/apps I've downloaded onto the external HDD. Before, I'd have to go into System Settings and then back out, and it would magically be there.
I'm at least happy I no longer have to do that.

But still, getting into Miiverse or eShop still take the same amount of time, so there's no speed fixes in this patch. I also checked for TVii, it's still not available. With such a huge update, I'm curious what exactly actually got fixed, and what they put on the system that's new... I just can't fathom why a patch which fixed so little, would be so large. Unless the update is a whole freakin' OS image, which honestly might be the case. It's not a bandwidth efficient way to accomplish the task, but perhaps Nintendo had that many things wrong that patching just a few files wouldn't work and they figured they'd just update the whole enchilada.

It makes the console look for external hard drives on boot, which is nice. Other than that, um - nothing I can tell. Probably stability fixes?

How do you know there is an update? I turned my wii u this afternoon(alaska time) and did not know there was an update, but this evening I read this post, I had to go into system settings and click on system update. So I take this is not like the wii where updates were automatically updated even when turned off(wii connect 24).

Doesn't look any different.... I haven't froze yet though thats a good sign, but menu load times are still the same.
